I think you need to try and tow before you judge. The limited range isn't really an issue if you plan your route to charge while still hitched. The benefit of being able to use a trailer without the fumes/noise of a generator is a huge benefit you can't get with any other vehicle on the market. I've done 1k+ mile tow trips and been able to boondock at times on these road trips.Don’t fall for this propaganda. I ordered the tow package on the new lightning really wanting to use it camping. The marketing ads for the lightning showed a large airstream camper towed behind the truck. Later others pointed out the truck has such limited range when towing a travel trailer that it is really not viable to travel the way that is depicted. Certainly not the vast western distances shown in this marketing photograph of the base camp trailer. The limited range of charging to 80% combined with poor towing mileage towing a camper makes this photo a misleading pipe dream. I know that most people already know this but there it is.
Totally depends on your setup and destination, but our 22' trailer loaded to the max (about 5600lbs) towed like a dream for a 3 hour haul to our campsite. I charged to 95%, stopped at a rest area half way that had free charging (only 25kw, added 11%) for an hour for lunch and still arrived with 43%...For us this truck feels like it was custom built for our towing needs. Best experience Ive ever had towing. This airstream pictured I bet wouldnt put much of a dent in range, hence the promo, but others can/will. Love my Tow Vehicle!Don’t fall for this propaganda. Id also like to add that on our route there are ZERO gas stations for most of the drive, but THREE charging stationsTotally depends on your setup and destination, but our 22' trailer loaded to the max (about 5600lbs) towed like a dream for a 3 hour haul to our campsite. I have not towed yet with my 23 ER Lariat but am about to go from Georgia to Oklahoma to pick up a orchard sprayer. I am concerned about charging at charging stations with a trailer behind me. What issues should I be prepared for? Do you need to unhitch the trailer in order to pull in to the charging stall? Thanks!!!Id also like to add that on our route there are ZERO gas stations for most of the drive, but THREE charging stations
This one is so empty that i can pull up parallel to it and not block any parking..
Our site is only 110v service but after 4 days I am back to 95% for the trip home...
