Just realized, I’ve never used my Park Assist

Prepare to be scared! It does ok, but it moves the vehicle quite fast and too close for my comfort. It took a couple tries before I let it actually finish a park job without intervening, and even then I was thinking I might regret not taking over. It is better for my stress level to park the vehicle myself.

I was too scared took it over it comes way too close for my comfort did try in a little empty parking lot it does park it self but scared to try when there many cars around.

Maybe that was my problem—I didn’t realize I was supposed to operate the brake. Although I instinctively hit the brake when it proceeded to try and park like Bo and Luke Duke in the General Lee!

You don’t need to operate the brake, that’s only for the older park assist, not park assist 2.0.

I have not used the Parking assist, but have used the trailer backup feature with my 14’ utility trailer and love it. Especially when putting the trailer away in the shed.

I would recommend, if you have it give it a try.

I have used it a few times on my Lightning and my Mach-E. I have only used it on the Mach-E to test it out and see how well it works. With the Lightning, I have had to use it a few times. I live in the city and the Mach-E gets the garage, but the Lightning doesn't fit, so I am stuck parking the Lightning on the street. A few times when only very tight spots were left on the street, I have used the Park Assist and it has managed to squeeze me into some VERY tight spots with only 2-3 inches left at either end.

We parked in downtown Detroit last year, not as tight but close, and came back to tiny marks on rear bumper from license plate frame on car behind us.

Proof we don't need crabwalk...just balls of steel to sit there, puckered up for several minutes as our trucks figure it out.

Park assist parks way closer than I do. The few times I have used it I found it to be a bit slow but it does get in close.

It is pretty nerve wracking the first few times you use it worrying that you are going to hit the cars in front or behind you.

Tow hitches on the back of trucks lower this occurrence. Now if only we could put tow hitches on the front too.

Ok, I didn’t think I needed to. In fact as I recall the instructions on the screen were pretty clear about how it works, but the parking speed was so quick I could believe that I missed something. In fact, I think when I hit the brakes it cancelled the park assist, but that could also have been me letting go of the button and grabbing the wheel.
