Tips to protect front “grill”

2023 Platinum owner since start of this year….January 2023. I’ll be keeping an eye on mine. Have noticed only a couple up to even a few perhaps pock spots or micro chips. Haven’t figured out long term solution yet, so far just ignoring them best I can.

Meaning what? What's their grill made of? Isn't it the same? Shiny as opposed to matte?

The glossy paint seems much more prone to chipping than the matte finish on the Lariat grille.

I sprayed my “grill” with 12 coats of plasti dip. Looking good so far.
I sprayed it to match the truck but I am sure they make a more subtle color.

While I understand that people don't like their vehicles less than pristine, there is nothing new about front ends getting marked up. My 2013 F-150 chrome grill has marks. My 2018 Fusion Energi had marks. My Mach-E has marks. That's what driving does.

I found a surefire way to prevent these marks on the front end, drive backwards.

It's a freaking truck, not a fine collectible. Drive it and enjoy it.

I put this on my grille. Breaks it up enough to make me happy so it's not just some big gray block of plastic. Has a bit of a carbon fiber appearance.

P.S. It's a pain in the arse to get all the dimples done. But I think it looks nice.

I have plans (or at least the idea) to do the same to the gril. However Star white won't be as easy to match as your mandarin. And it will show chips galore. They don't do custom colors with plasti dip, do they? I'd like to see more pics as well. Is the rest a wrap?

The 2010 F150 I replaced had fewer chips than my 10,000 mile Lightning. We're not talking about normal wear.

I came across this pre-cut vinyl wrap for the Lightning grille. I'm guessing it's a new offer as it doesn't have any reviews or photos yet. It's a little pricey but if it keeps the grille looking good it may be worth it. Who's brave enough to give it a try? I don't have my truck yet...
