Can you please clarify what you mean by "approve a connectivity authorizations"? Just want to make sure I've got everything setup to receive updates. Thanks!

re: how to see current software revision...

So this (Jan 4 2023) Sync 4 software version display under vehicle settings does not relate at all to the sw update numbers like 4.2.2.2 or 6.3? (Another example, a later, Jan 19 2023, image shows sw ver 22293_Product rev 610.) I would think the Sync 4 sw version would be bumped at each update?
Only APIM updates have a chance to give you a higher Sync version. Not every APIM update will give you a higher Sync version, but only APIM updates can give you a higher Sync version. The Sync version gives you a clue as to how old/new the software is. In your case, it is software from the 125th day of 2022.

That has been the case for me as well, but some say it helps to have the wifi configured.
In PTS, there is a category that states whether wifi is required for an OTA to download or not. Not a single OTA released to date for any Ford vehicle I have checked requires wifi to download. It is believed by people that know a lot more about this than I do that even if your vehicle is connected to wifi, it will download the files via it's own cellular connection.

Edit: On a different note, the first ICE truck reported getting 6.3.0 today. The updates continue to be streamlined for both ICE and EV F150's.

You make a really good point. It beats the USB in the truck with it running for an hour for a Sync update. Of course there are both sides of the coin, Tesla leaves them all in the dust. Ford says this will be different for the T3, built and integrated from the ground up. I'll believe it when I see it. If they ever build the T3.
I don’t know about leaving them all in the dust.

The last 5 Tesla updates I have received have been to fix issues their updates caused. Granted they release these updates pretty quickly.

But I don’t know about leaving other companies in the dust, after 10+ years they still haven’t figured how to get Automatic Wipers to work properly.

So I received 6.1 and am usually only a few days behind the rollout. But for 6.2 I hadn’t received it in over a week. So knowing fords inconsistency I went into the truck and found the Wi-Fi was turned off again. Within 48 hours of turning it on I had 6.2 and a few days later had 6.3.
Usually the same for me. 6.1 is the last one I got on Oct. 17th. Went in this morning and had to turn the wifi back on. One of the past updates must have turned it off. We will see if this helps.

This isn’t an offline / undrivable update. Such updates apply as soon as they download. The updates that require ignition off are the ones that apply at your scheduled time.
Mine updated during dinner, but when I walked from the restauraunt
FYI, this one disabled the auto folding mirrors option for me. Similar issue happened on the Mach-E with its recent Sync update.
I continue to have these issues. When I get an update, it resets most of my feature selections:
Back Seat Occupant
Folding Mirrors
Audible feedback for locking doors
etc

Very odd, but I was able to go back in and reselect them. Why not save my configuration and reapply.

My Lightning has a strong wifi connection at home. As reported elsewhere, I have had 4 software updates complete while parked for 10 minutes at a shopping center 10 miles from home. I had another one complete last week while parked for an hour at a shopping center 5 miles from home. It seems that the download occurs while driving, or upon completion of a drive, versus when it is parked at home. Low voltage battery SOC could also be a factor.

Mostly while driving, because of the way the OTA triggers work. If you get sent an OTA now, it sits in your queue until you turn the ignition on or start the truck. That is what provides "consent" for the OTA to download and install. Since most people start their truck when they are going to drive it, the updates download while the vehicle is driving. This only applies to OTA's do not require the vehicle to be inhibited. Updates that require the vehicle to be inhibited are given consent to install by your auto-updates schedule.

I went and looked at my Connected Vehicle Features, but when I select it, it will say please wait. But the options you show in the far right picture never show up. Anyone have any ideas why and also could this be contributing to me not getting any OTA updates since I got the truck the end of June?

It's a known bug that gets fixed with 6.3.0. Is your vehicle connected to your FordPass? Can you send commands outside of Bluetooth range?

Yes, I can send remote commands via FordPass.
Than most likely you are fine and just waiting for the updates. The bug keeping the menu from working is intermittent so check on it every so often and you'll probably be able to catch it and get it open and check

FedEx just upgraded to these babies from punch cards.
Beep boop.
Is that why they had a datacenter outage last night, cut-over to the improved systems? LOL!!!!

Made no difference if the keys were about 18’ or 12’. Still stuck at 6.1. One of these days it will come

Look up at the top of the screen where the Wi-Fi, Cell Phone Signal and Temp are listed. There is another indicator that should be there, it's a triangle with two arrows next to it. That icon indicates an active connection between the modem and Ford's servers. Without that icon the Connected Ford features won't show up in the dropdown...it just times out.

I believe there has been a bug in the APIM or Modem or Gateway module for this.

If you happen to keep the truck in an area with very low AT&T cell phone reception and the truck looses its active connection to Ford's cloud the Icon will drop off. Then when you fire up the truck and drive a few miles down the road the AT&T signal improves and the truck/modem reconnect. The bug was that the APIM did not refresh to see that the modem had reconnected. Sometimes you would get the popup message that your truck is now connected to ford's cloud but the icon would not pop up.

So the modem and gateway were talking to ford and your ford pass app functions all worked. Just the APIM would not refresh to see the connection to ford's cloud.

In my case the icon would return after I parked the truck in an area with decent at&t signal and let it sleep for a 30 min or so.

After the most recent APIM update for the owners manual it seems this bug is fixed. I get the connected ford cloud icon every time I drive the truck. Sometimes it takes a few min for it to turn up but it's consistent now.
