I can wait for the OTA fix - not that urgent. Besides the voice prompts and range work great on Apple Maps now…😬

i think this update caused carplay to sometimes not play audio unless i disconnect and reconnect. As well as the camera bug while driving.

Hey all - apologies if the answer to this question is somewhere in this feed. Just received yet another Service Notice (they're piling up lately - BCCM module, tailgate light bar, battery cell monitoring, dashboard mat, heated steering wheel chip) that supposedly can be fixed with an OTA update. Only problem is that my truck has not received an OTA update since May.

I just got off the phone with the "Software Update Customer Service Center" who assured me that my truck is currently capable of receiving updates. From what I have read in this thread, that seems false...

I have also asked my dealer to manually upload a SYNC update on 3 separate dealership visits over the last 11 months, however I have seen zero changes to the screen since purchase. Would really like the camera access button, etc.

What do you guys recommend I tell my dealer in order to get the latest versions?

2023 Platinum built Dec 2022. Here are my current versions:
-Power-Up 4.2.2.1
- SYNC 4 Software Version 23014_PRODUCT

Ford does not pay dealers for the hours it takes to update modules unless there is a TSB, SSM or recall of some sort that they can bill Ford for. While some people have gotten dealers to perform module updates for them, it is not the norm. You can ask, but if they don't do it, just keep in mind that nobody likes to work for free.

I personally have had Ford engineering reach out to me here what I was having Comms issues and they were able to fix it OTA. I will tag @Ford Motor Company on this thread - perhaps they can reach out to you and get your VIN and see if you may have the same issue I did.

Incidentally- mine is at the dealer today for the tail bar replacement and all the other recalls - and my heated steering wheel addition - just in time for winter!

That's nice. Ford reached out to me when I complained about issues with my screen freezing and some other things and they asked me to give them all my contact info and then just said "go to a dealer"... Ha.

Has anyone confirmed if the Apple Maps EV routing will trigger the trucks battery preconditioning when navigating to a charging stop?

withiut this, I guess we’d still have to manuallly add the charger as a destination in the native app but I think they won’t both run at the same time…

I did a little testing last week...

https://www.f150lightningforum.com/forum/threads/power-my-trip-gom-fail.16729/post-348263

..but did not have OBD hooked up to monitor HVB temp. I thought I read that Apple Maps would not Precondition though?

That said, it was allowing me to use Ford Nav and Apple Maps at the same time which was great. I dont normally use Apple Maps so not sure how long that been the case. I know trying to use Waze in the past with Ford nav at the same time did not work, but it seems to me that was working as well.

As you mentioned, in Ford Nav If you manuallly add the charger as a final destination does that actually precondition or does precondition only work if the charger is an auto determined in route charge stop?

Confirmed. Apple Maps and Ford NAV can do turn by turn at the same time. Waze and/or Google maps cannot do turn by turn at the same time as Ford Nav. That said you can have Waze or Google open while Ford nav is doing turn by turn. Which is still helpful if you use police detection on Waze.

Great find on now being able to run Apple Nav and Ford Nav at the same time. I've tried multiple times and it always failed. Something must have changed with either the 6.X series and/or the 17.X on iOS when they added the EV routing.

I know it sounds a bit crazy to some to maybe have more than one running, but I trust Apple much more for routing and having recent updates, but also wanted Ford to be finding chargers or preheating the battery. Running both has always failed, even just a few weeks back on my last road trip. Looking forward to this on the holiday trips.

A member on the ICE forums had an APIM update pop up for his truck in FDRS today. He installed it and his Sync version is now 23291. His truck is a 2022. Another member there said the same update showed up today for his wife's 2023 Mach E.

The same member with the ICE truck had installed an APIM update on his truck on 10/17 that gave him Sync 23237. That update quickly disappeared shortly after he reported getting it, and we learned later on that OTA 6.3.0 was on pause.

Well, guess what is the 291st day of the year? October 18th. I believe 6.3.0 will start getting rolled out again sooner than later.

Edit: Jesse just posted the release notes for the update on an ICE truck. Looks like someone already got it via OTA.

I'll be listening intently for more confirmation from the members, then adjust the thread title.....

In the last few days my audio has been doing its wacky-down-to-one-speaker thing AND all my presets went away today.
Generally this is my trucks way of saying...an update is coming.

Just checked my own truck in FDRS and I'm showing an APIM update that wasn't there before. Looks like 6.3.0 is indeed back.

Mine was updated yesterday at the dealer, and it's now version 23237. The voice command seems to work, but I haven't set up Alexa again after the master reset they did. I'm happy to have Apple Maps routing. 😎
