Randall, thanks for the idea. My friend came through. Just what I was looking for and didn't cost me a cent.

Love it. Do you have a STL or equivalent 3d model you’d be willing to share

my friend does not share his 3d designs. we joked about selling dust caps but as most people just plug theirs back into the FCSP i don't see much demand. ...But if I get a ton of requests.....???

I would consider one just to keep the holstered plug from sticking out from the wall. So count me a one interest.

I’m interested too. Just had a spring break on the garage door so I’ve got the cord under the door and wrapped in a plastic bag like the OP when not in use. Hopefully the garage door folks can come out next week to replace. Side note, didn’t realize how heavy those 16 ft doors are…

Your friend might consider the likely influx of demand once the Tesla adapter is available. I could see a lot of people wanting this since the adapter will likely be in the frunk or under the seat. An eBay and Etsy post and print on demand until there is volume warranting a supply. 🤷🏼‍♂️

many cable adaptors come with a carrying bag. we'll see how the one from Ford is packaged. thanks for the thought.

If this is something people want, I can make it happen. I dont have the Ford charger yet to take measurements, but I can do one for the J1772 tomorrow if I get the honey do list done. Do yall think something rubbery would be better or a hard plastic that will lock in?

there are ones available for the J1772. (google J1772 dust cap) The hard plastic one my friend made for me works fine. it does lock on.

If you have a printer and wouldn't mind testing for me, I just whipped one up. I dont have the charger yet to test dimensions, but I did find the CCS dimensions online. I can send you the file directly or put it up on printables.

Glad this worked out for you. Is it ABS, PETG? If it’s pla be careful it’ll get brittle and won’t like the sun at all. ABS and PETG will handle the sun and heat better but I would still try to keep them shaded. Again, glad this worked out.

I was able to check fitment at a local DCFC this morning.

For those of you with a 3D printer the STL can be found here:
https://www.printables.com/model/667911-ccs-dust-cover

For those without a 3D printer, it can be found here:

I'm not sure what fits a DCFC cable will also fit the FCSP. heres my FCSP with my dust cap. seems plausible, I dunno! but when I 'm out and about in the next few days I'll try and remember to take my cap with me and stop by a local DCFC and see it it fits. will post results.
