Tesla updates aren't that much better.

Every two or three weeks I get a Tesla update that says "Minor Fixes" with no real information.

You won't get any of those modes because frankly they are just gimmicks, except for Sentry Mode.

If Ford didn't add any of this to the Mach-E dont expect it on the Lightning. Just get the Cybertruck when you get a chance.
My 2018 M3 added dash cam, sentry, dog mode, remote camera viewing, interior camera viewing, driving on city streets, UI updates, 20+ fsd beta updates, FSD visualizations, recognition of driver by phone and a ton of other stuff. Maybe the “Christmas update” will add new features. Being able to set your car temperature or see who/what is in or around your car remotely is not a gimmick. The car had none of those things when I bought it. It has’t delivered on robotaxi but it has gotten closer.

I acknowledged that sentry mode was not a Gimmick, some of those features are via paid subscription.

The truck itself is fine, but if you like the Tesla Christmas updates then I could see why it would be an issue. The BC update is coming so who knows, maybe we get Fart mode soon.

I think we have blindspot monitoring coming to Tesla this week.

Are there features available on Mach-Es that aren't available on lightnings? Or do some updates go to Mach-Es first? I'm not familiar with anything else ford is doing to be honest.
In short, your expectations are not realistic. Ford is not a software company. If you thought they were, you were mistaken. Dog mode? Camping mode? Why? If you want Dog mode, turn off the shutdown timer. Same with camping mode, then put towels over the screen and instrument panel.

Ford isn't ever going to do things with software like Tesla. They focus on vehicles that look good, and work, not things that a fraction of the population want. And fart noises? They have adults working for them.

Yes, Mach-Es have features that the Lightning does not yet have. Mach-Es are currently in process of OTA updates to provide BlueCruise 1.3. It has dragged on for months, and no one knows when it will be finished, but it is likely weeks away.

One would expect that Lightning is right behind it. But... Ford.

The Mach-E also has walkaway locking, which has not yet come to the Lightning.

I bought a 2021 Mach-E, then swapped for my order 2021 that became a 2022 when it 50.5 weeks to arrive, then a Lightning. I did this to ensure that there is choice, that Tesla doesn't dominate. I knew that Ford would have major issues with software, and they likely will continue to. It may get better, but they can't even provide adequate release notes.

Yeah, not having BSM has been a major gripe for me. How can all those other things can be added but not simple BSM?

I think they want to simplify everything with less hardware but who knows.

Both companies offer what they offer and the consumer has a choice as stated above.

The only thing I wish Ford would fix is the Ford App and battery efficiency, or unlock more range. Other than that the other extras I never really used. I think I’ve used YT once. But I don’t often charge at Public Chargers and stay in the car neither.

Say what you will about Tesla, but features like Sentry and Camp mode are far from gimmicks, hence the reason for this thread.

The GOM seems to be much more accurate when you set a destination in the Ford Navigation app. Without a destination, the GOM can't determine the type of driving you will be doing and makes too many assumptions. I drove nearly 400 km on Saturday including a charging stop and tracked the GOM from start to finish. Its estimate was within a few km. It is useless without a set destination.
On the upside, I get pretty close to the EPA numbers when I drive around town in the summer - sometimes more.

I disabled OTA in my truck on day 1 after the ridiculous issues it caused my 2021 Mach-e. When I traded in my Mach-e it would reboot and have a blank screen that after 3 weeks at dealership and many parts replaced solved nothing. In addition my phone calls with hands free had to be hung up 1st ti.e when I called then redialed so I could actually hear the person. It was ridiculous as I had a great Mach-e until this past summer when Ford went crazy with almost daily OTA to my car. That was the point it became unreliable.

It's in the manual. Page 267 of the 2022 manual. You can also watch videos.
https://www.ford.com/technology/driver-assist-technology/enhanced-active-park-assist/

SWITCHING ACTIVE PARK ASSIST ON AND OFF
Press the parking aid button, then press the active park assist icon on the touchscreen to bring
up full screen notifications. Press the soft keys on the touchscreen to switch between the parallel park in, perpendicular park in, or parallel park out parking modes.

Cancelling Active Park Assist
To cancel parking assistance at any time, shift out of neutral (N).

Pausing Active Park Assist
To pause parking assistance at any time, release the parking aid button. If you open the passenger or rear doors, active park assist pauses. To resume parking, press and hold the
parking aid button again.

ENTERING A PARALLEL PARKING SPACE
1. Press the parking aid button. Note: The system detects other vehicles and curbs to find a parking space.
2. Press the active park assist icon on the touchscreen.
3. Use the turn signal lever to search for a parking space on the driver or passenger side of your vehicle.
Note: If you do not use the turn signal lever, the system searches for a parking space on the passenger side of your vehicle.
4. Drive your vehicle approximately 3 ft (1 m) away from and parallel to the other parked vehicles when searching for a parking space.
Note: A tone sounds and a message appears in the information and entertainment display when active park assist finds a suitable parking space.
5. Press and hold the brake pedal.
6. Release the steering wheel and shift into neutral (N).
7. Press and hold the parking aid button.
8. Release the brake pedal to allow your vehicle to park.
Note: You can slow down your vehicle at any time by pressing the brake pedal.
Note:When parallel parking between objects, the system parks closer to the object in front of your vehicle to allow easier access to the luggage compartment.
Note:When parking is complete, your vehicle shifts into park (P).

ENTERING A PERPENDICULAR PARKING SPACE
1. Press the parking aid button.
Note: Active park assist does not recognize parking space lines and centers your vehicle between objects.
2. Press the active park assist icon on the touchscreen.
3. Select perpendicular parking.
4. Use the turn signal lever to search for a parking space on the driver or passenger side of your vehicle.
Note: If you do not use the turn signal lever, the system searches for a parking space on the passenger side of your vehicle.
5. Drive your vehicle approximately 3 ft (1 m) away from and perpendicular to the other parked vehicles when searching for a parking space.
Note: A tone sounds and a message appears in the information and entertainment display when active park assist finds a parking space.
6. Press and hold the brake pedal.
7. Release the steering wheel and shift into neutral (N).
8. Press and hold the parking aid button.
9. Release the brake pedal to allow the vehicle to park.
Note: Active park assist backs your vehicle into parking spaces.
Note:Active park assist aligns the front end of your vehicle with the lane side of the object next to it.
Note:When the system detects only one object, it allows enough distance to open the door on either side.
Note: You can slow down your vehicle at any time by pressing the brake pedal.
Note:When parking is complete, your vehicle shifts into park (P).

EXITING A PARKING SPACE
Active park assist only assists leaving parallel parking spaces.
1. Press the parking aid button.
2. Press the active park assist icon on the touchscreen.
3. Select parallel park exit.
4. Use the turn signal to choose the direction to exit the parking space.
5. Press and hold the brake pedal.
6. Release the steering wheel and shift into neutral (N).
7. Release the parking brake.
8. Press and hold the parking aid button.
9. Release the brake pedal to allow your vehicle to move.
Note: After active park assist drives your vehicle to a position where you can exit the parking space in a forward movement, a message appears instructing you to take full control of your vehicle.
10. Take control of your vehicle.
Note: You can slow down your vehicle at any time by pressing the brake pedal.

IF Ford had the will they could certainly do the following: —->

“What I really want to see are Ford equivalents to Tesla's: camp mode, dog mode, sentry mode, and dashcam feature.”

What do you mean by the second generation frunk will be like all the others in the pipeline? Smaller, less features, no frunk? I'm not too familiar with other models or if there have been any leaks about what is to come.
I think based on some sketches in recent Ford patents some people believe the T3 truck will push the cabin forward to increase the bed length and reduce the space available for the frunk. I don’t know of any official word that this is the case.
