There is no provision for the camera on these grills. Both AZT9 and myself have ordered these and are planning to try to mod them to work, but the seller makes clear that there is no camera spot and we are definitely gambling on getting it right lol. I'm sure we'll both post if and when we get them done, but to answer your question, no; no camera spot in these without cutting.I was talking about the grill @AZT9 was talking about.
No. For two reasons: you don’t have a light bar and you do have a camera. So, will this fit a Pro with the front Camera?
Ford might have an expensive “woopsie” on the Lightning if it is actually 80.0 inches wide as indicated on its website. Interestingly enough, the ICE F150 cabs (except the Raptor) are all listed at 79.9 inches wide on the Ford website. Those amber lamps are called "Front Identification Lamps" and they are NHTSA mandated for commercial vehicles and vehicles of a certain width. Raptor happens to be wide enough to need them, so was one of the first consumer vehicles to display them. Not really mimicry of the Raptor since there were plenty of other trucks using them already, so I don't think it's treading on toes... https://one.nhtsa.gov/cars/rules/standards/conspicuity/TBMpstr.html
EDIT to add: This is interesting, I dug further and the Front Identification lights are supposed to be applied to any vehicle 80 inches wide or wider... guess how wide Lightning is? Exactly 80 inches *with no mirrors on it at all*. Even with the mirrors folded, it's 83.6 inches, so not sure why we DON'T have them! https://media.ford.com/content/dam/fordmedia/North America/US/product/2022/f-150-lightning/pdf/F-150_Lightning_Tech_Specs.pdf
That does look pretty good. Can't wait to hear more. It's here! That was quick. Figured folks considering this grille might like to see some details. Initial thoughts before install are that quality is good, very little flex and decent packaging. Looks and feels well-enough made to fit without too much tweaking, but not installed yet. I was concerned about how the letters would mount but there are moulding marks on the back that align with posts on the letters, one must be brave enough to drill ~16 holes in the grill (and resolve the as-yet unanswered camera conundrum). I ordered the parts /u/AZT9 figured out would work better, full credit for the Raptor parts callout but those have not arrived so we're in a holding pattern for installation. Anyway, the pics!
Looks fantastic, I love it.This seller sent me a couple of pictures of a customer vehicle - I think it looks good. Sorry if I stole somebody's thunder from above in this thread, but I wanted to share the pics in case anybody else is as excited as I am about this.
Let me know how your installs work out so I can buy the same parts and make this happen, too!
These are from here. This is @AZT9's truck, he posted earlier in this thread but made his own, new thread with these pics. He should have watermarked them so the seller couldn't steal them! This seller sent me a couple of pictures of a customer vehicle - I think it looks good. It looks like you have glossy black mirror covers too, are the aftermarket?Got my grille back today, custom painted to match Anti-matter blue, with a glossy black in the "grille" area. Got it done locally for a couple hundred with a friends and family discount.
Sorry the pictures are in a parking lot on a cloudy day, but I just installed it in that parking lot about 15 minutes ago (even my old Ridgeline is parked next to me). I take some glamour shots when the sun comes out.
Here is the new thread: https://www.f150lightningforum.com/forum/threads/ford-e-raptor-grille-swap.17862/These are from here. This is @AZT9's truck, he posted earlier in this thread but made his own, new thread with these pics. He should have watermarked them so the seller couldn't steal them!
Nah, the mirrors are same as all Lariats, no customization there. The antimatter blue shows as black in the shade. It looks like you have glossy black mirror covers too, are the aftermarket?
