I have a 2023 Lightning Platinum with extended range battery. I normally charge to 100% and until recently I was always getting around 300 mi range. The last several times I have only been getting a range around 260 mi. I was wondering if there has been a software change or is the battery degrading? I am using a charge station pro at home and it is set to charge at 64 A. Anyone have any ideas?

You need to look at your driving efficiency and calculate that way. At 260 miles from the guess o meter, your truck thinks you have been averaging around 2.00 miles per kilowatt. That is low for me, but this month with cold weather and more highway travel I am only averaging 2.2 mpk where normally I am 2.4/2.5.

Weather and speed are the thinks that make the GOM start showing lower and lower mileage.

You can rest your driving history to get it to rest the GOM until it learns your current driving patterns.

Most likely it is what Tfarrell73 noted but you can see through OBD2 what the battery state of health is. I have 8K on mine and my SOH has gone down to 98.5%. I baby my battery and rarely if ever charge to 100% but floor it once in a while.

p.s. If you started driving in summer, this change makes sense.

One of the recent OTA's removed the theoretical 100% ideal range that many of us were seeing prior to the update, now it's a more realistic range impacted by outside temp's and your recent driving style.

I've had the truck for a little over a year and my driving habits are basically the same. I have 15,000 miles on it and have only been on 2 trips where I have to charge away from home.

Are you receiving OTA's, if so what was the most recent version?

Has your efficiency (miles per kWh) changed?
Ignore the GOM - that’s why it’s called “GOM”.

I would caution you on charging to 100% unless you really need it. plenty of threads on best charging practices but long term 90% is recommended.

I think the range adjusts based on your driving habits, maybe I'm wrong.

As follow-up to this thread. After about a month of charging and getting a reduced range, one of my battery modules malfunctioned and vehicle went in limp mode. After almost six weeks in shop, they replaced battery module, and the vehicle is now charging to a range of 300 miles. So, beware if you see a reduced range.
