Finally Received First Update

After owning my Lightning XLT for 6 weeks I received my first update. Ford Power-up 6.1.0. It appears to only deal with BlueCruise, which I do not have. But hey, it's an update!

I was on 4.2 a month or so ago and I just received 6.4 yesterday, It seems once. they start the updates are coming regularly.

That has been my experience as well.. I had not received a single update since taking ownership of the truck in Oct 23, now I have received 3.. receiving 6.1 today.

The pattern I've noticed is it once every 7 days. my first update was 2/8.. then 2/15 and 2/22 today..

I receive the same update to too. Glad I got an update. Not glad it was done without prompting me for approval. I was in a restaurant at lunch with coworkers. Having the truck be rendered temporarily unusable during an update in the middle of my day is bad practice on Ford's part and just rude.

Just unnerving that vehicles manufactured after mine are receiving updates. And on a schedule similar to the '22 and early '23... roughly 3 to 4 months after.

I have a June 22 delivery truck, so the experience may differ. I saw lots of others getting updates by the end of the first summer, and I wasn't getting any. Cell coverage is good at the office during the day, but lousy at home and nonexistent on the weekends if I am parked. I connected the truck to the wifi at work and home; still nothing. Eventually I called Ford, got a very helpful person who asked for my VIN, checked a few things, and then told me that an update was downloading as we spoke and the truck would be unavailable for 20 minutes while it installed. Probably coincidence, and had more to do with connectivity than the Ford helpdesk, but that's how it went for me. And then I seemed to be getting updates with the pack, more or less.

Since then, it's been pretty random and one of the things that seems to go missing after an update is the wifi passwords (also Trip 2 and most radio presets).

From what I understand, these smaller updates do not render the truck unusable. Any update that does require that will occur in the time window set in the truck. I'd say about half of mine occurred midday and the other half over night (in my window).
