My Grizzl-e will let me charge in a range of 16 Amps to 40 Amps.
For battery health, slower is better. However, faster is more efficient due to the length of time pumps and battery warming are engaged.
Where is the sweet spot? (That answer could depend on the season.)
Anybody know how much power is being used for overhead e.g., pumps and battery warming?
Any recommendations?
Note: I only drive about 25 miles daily.

It basically doesn't matter. 40amps is slow already. It doesn't overheat the battery, or cause any issues. Some people set it on 32amps, because. Do whatever floats your boat.

I assume 80A FCSP doesn't matter either? Are there any AC L2 chargers to avoid? I was thinking that only DCFC would contribute to battery degradation over long-term. Or is that mostly high kW DC chargers?

I don't often post videos because people come here to read, but Engineering Explained had a great one about battery health.

TL;DR - Even DC fast charging doesn't really matter. Your battery cares even less about slow AC charging rates.

I would go 32 if 40 Amp is max for your Charger. Truck will be fine with both. It is true that at 40 amp, some of the stuff in the truck will not be running as long but 32 amp put less stress on everything along the path; if there are screws that are not tight enough at the panel, or some components are not from the best brand inside the inverter in the truck,…… you know a weak link somewhere, 32 may give them a little more breathing room. Also at 32, your 12V battery will have more time to charge.

I just completed watching the earlier video. When should I expect to receive my diploma? 🤣😂

Was very informative.

I'm disappointed he didn't include spreadsheet data analysis of the Ford pouch cell (MME or Lightning) they had both in house in the past couple of years.

I tried to add our battery, but rapidly realized how little I know about it.

That may be a future lesson.

Forget EVERYTHING he says about C rates! If I discharge a 5 Ah cell at a 2C rate (10 A), I still only get 5 Ah out of it (probably more like 4.8 Ah), but I get it in a half hour instead of 1 hour at a 1C rate.

For the Hummer pack, think of it as two packs that are normally in a parallel configuration, but with contactors that can switch over to have the 2 packs in series

Otherwise, good information but I think most everything was covered in previous posts on this forum.

I have seen just about everything shown (and could identify on sight), but there was a module and a pack that I have not personally seen before.
