You can. Just keep one of these in the truck. You don't have to charge it. Just pull in front of the dead car, plug this in the back and Bob's your uncle.

Edit: I don’t personally own this brand but I have used similar ones.

I have successfully jump stated a couple different cars with mine. It isn't recommended but it can be done.

I got a capacitor-based jump starter, you plug it into your cig lighter port or USB for a few minutes and it has enough juice to jump a car, or your own truck - even if your battery is mostly dead it can provide enough current to the jump starter capacitor to later be able to initiate a crank or the contactors in an EV.

I would get a AC battery charger in the frunk. It takes a little while to charge the battery but it should work if the portable charger/jumper fails your friend.

In this modern era or portable battery-based jump starters, this is less of an issue. And with as much capacity we have to deliver AC current, one could carry a full on plug-in battery charger

I've jumped several vehicles, with no issues.... what's your 'big' problem?? It's a 12v battery jumping a 12v battery... what's the issue??
