Factory Mud Guards Breaking

Has anyone noticed an issue with the mudguards at the front of their rear wheels. Both the driver and passenger side mudguards are broken in the same spot. I have a 23 Lariat ER, with 3100 miles on it and it has never left a paved road.

Is it possible someone kicked them? Not sure if this would cause that damage though.

Live in Omaha, Nebraska and we haven’t had a lot of snow here. Seems odd that they break at the same spot on opposite sides of the truck.

Doesn't take much snow on the road to pack up the wheel wells and splash guards. The ice that builds up could have damaged them or an overzealous boot knocking the snow out.
I didn't get them for my truck and the snow still packs in there right to the ground nearly.

These were standard on the truck, and haven’t been kicked. No snow here for a month and just noticed yesterday.

They were factory installed. They are on the front side of the rear wheels.

For the record, those aren't for mud. They are air deflectors.

Do you use an automatic car wash with spinning brushes? Wonder if that might be a factor.
