We truly wish we could have supplied them for you, but we still do not have inventory available to us. Keep in mind, you can visit any Discount Tire location to add our Certificates for Repair, Refund and Replacement, that cover your tires for any road hazards.

Generally, heavier-duty construction, like the LT LR-E in this case, leads to an increased weight compared to an SL or XL tire of the same size. When you compare the overall weight of the LT tire to an F250, the two are close, making the higher load range seem well suited for the Lightning. The heavier-duty construction should also provide improved stability and help with rolling resistance due to the higher pressure it requires.

According to our understanding, LT275/60R-20 tire inventory is currently being shipped to distributors. On our end, we are waiting for internal part numbers to be created. As soon as this happens, the Open Country A/T III EV will go live on our website.

For reference, the 275/60R-20 116 XL version is under development and is slated for release towards the latter half of this year.



The range loss from the testing was approximately 5 miles from 80% charge. In real world use, 5-10 miles range reduction is likely what owners can expect.

Any idea what sizes will be available for 18” wheels and when?

From what I can tell, the biggest things they’re advertising are

Different lettering/lugs/shoulders to be more aerodynamic

Lower rolling resistance and the tread is supposed to be “optimized for EVs” to help with that

It’ll be interesting to get the EV and regular side by side.

In a side by side comparison, you are spot on. There are more cosmetic changes for aerodynamics in the sidewall, slightly less aggressive tread for quieter ride and less rolling resistance. Keep in mind however this is compared to its non EV counterpart and does not suggest it would be better for efficiency compared to a highway oriented tire.

I’ve driven on them for about 400 miles so far. Nothing off road yet, that won’t be for a couple weeks. They feel much more controlled vs or as you can imagine. I’ve only had duratracs and k02’s
