Semi-related, did Ford fix the issues where:

1) battery percentage wasn't available on all screens (specifically not calm screen)
2) charging rate in kW was not shown in dashboard when at a DCFC?

Whether you accelerate from 0 to 60 rapidly, or slowly, you use the same amount of electricity.

None of the modes harm the truck.
You never get something for nothing. The quicker you achieve 60 mph the more fuel you'll use . That goes for diesel, gas or electric.

Boy it must be nice to get updates, none at all for me since I got my Lariat ER in June. Thanks Ford.....
I had the same problem. Failed updates. I contacted ford and their temporary fix was instead of charging to the recommended 80% they told me to set my full charge to 84% and my updates started coming in. They've recently install a new 12 volt battery monitoring module & software that's supposed to solve that problem. The original 12 volt battery monitor told the OTA updates that there wasn't enough battery to complete the update so the update would fail.

Recommended 80%? Ford says they recommend 90%. Either way, I‘ll change my setting to 84% and see if that encourages any updates. My last one was March 14th.

Ford must have changed their recommended charge rate. When I received my lightning they were only recommending 80% charge. So they told me to start charging to 85% because I was having trouble receiving updates. But if you're charging to 90% then that's not your problem. If I was you I'd request they install the recall for the replacement of your battery monitor. I believe when your dealer replaces that module they will also install a software update that relates to this problem. My dealer actually sent a technician to my home to install the new battery monitor module so I didn't have to take my truck to the dealer.

I tried to change the charging percentage in the app but it only allows 10% increments.

What OS (iOS/Android) and what version of the app do you have?

I don't know how to tell the version of the app I'm on.
The Public FordPass beta has some updates that might solve your issue.

The confusing thing, for me, is the old FordPass would let me set in increments of 5.

With update 6.3 the truck remembers my driving mode. So glad to see this. I like the more expressive regeneration and acceleration of Sport Mode. I am well aware aggressive acceleration uses more battery. Is there any disadvantage/harm to the truck to always driving in Sport Mode?
interesting article from a Ford dealership regarding improved efficiency in Sport mode. Definitely going to give this a go.

https://www.diehlfordsharon.com/maximizing-efficiency-f-150-lightnings-sport-mode/

An extract from the article (conclusion):

Real-World Benefits
In real-world driving scenarios, the benefits of Sport Mode in the F-150 Lightning become evident. Drivers can enjoy a more engaging driving experience with improved acceleration and handling, all while maintaining or even improving their MPGe. This is particularly beneficial in urban settings where frequent stops and starts can otherwise reduce efficiency. The optimized regenerative braking and energy distribution help in maintaining a higher MPGe compared to other driving modes.

The Ford F-150 Lightning’s Sport Mode is more than just a feature for performance enthusiasts; it’s a sophisticated tool that enhances the overall efficiency of the vehicle. By improving throttle response, regenerative braking, energy distribution, and aerodynamics, Sport Mode allows drivers to enjoy a dynamic driving experience without sacrificing miles per gallon equivalent. For those looking to maximize the efficiency of their electric truck while still enjoying the thrill of driving, Sport Mode in the F-150 Lightning is the perfect solution.

I agree with this. I've noticed the better efficiency while driving in Sport Mode and i wasn't sure if I was just imagining the better efficiency along with the better performance response.

I will also try this mode for a week or so to see if this article has merit or is it the product of just one person's opinion.

Thanks for the post.
