In case you are not familiar with the valley, it is what the area around Phoenix AZ is called. I was going to my normal morning volunteer job yesterday, it was 6:50 AM (0650 for you 24 hour folks) and noticed my battery temp was above the centerline, not much but similar to what I saw last summer and the outside temp reported by the truck was 86F. I got a screenshot but it did not come out right, sorry.

Noticing the same thing in Tucson. It seems my garage held in quite a bit of heat the other morning. Battery temp was about half an inch right of center when I left for work around 6am. It was 70's and the temp eventually went back to center a few miles down the road. 108F heading home, temp back to the right again and it stuck there for the commute home.

I haven't seen my battery temp down to the centerline in about a month now. But it's just barely been over the whole time. I imagine the tick marks are a "safe" zone and it's never outside those at least. I kind of wish the MachE had a similar gauge. First summer with the truck so I have no basis of comparison.

Curious to see your gauge after running an early morning departure time, cabin at cool or medium, then see if the chiller drops to battery pack down to "Normal" middle hash mark!

I don't go anywhere, but for you, I'll run some experiments. :)

Is the truck plugged in the entire time?
Yes, if it’s in my driveway, it’s plugged in. I charge based on my solar production and time of use plan, so charge windows is 7am-1pm currently. 7am-7pm on the weekends. But I still keep it plugged in for the active cooling. I don’t think we’re quite hot enough for that yet.

I am just surprised it shows 121 F and the cooling isn't already working if it is receiving land power. It seems your really close to Mickey's warning about 80% SOC and 131 F.

In my experience with the MachE, the active cooling when plugged in doesn’t kick in till the car reads about 125F

This is about 5:30 pm, was parked in partial shade. Still 106F. After 20 minutes of remote starting. Not plugged in, since I was at an appointment.

Unplugged will only cool the cabin, but not condition the battery.

Though when you start & run the truck the system will begin chilling the battery as a matter of normal drive conditioning.
