So, there are Lightnings with the lane change feature already?
I've been on 1.4 since December on my 2021. You'd need to fully update certain modules with FDRS and then use FORScan to enable the new features.

Ford F-150 Lightning BlueCruise 1.3 announced, coming to Lightning by end of the year 1705677048082

If I had a platinum with the lay down seats, and with bluecruise I can input my destination, lay down and take a napā€¦I would pay the $800/year.
Iā€™d give them $850, youā€™re a cheapskate ;)

Every time this thread gets bumped I have a hope that they finally announced 1.3 update...

we're getting very close to "The End of this year!" though...if you just ignore the date the OP posted...

I thought I read somewhere that that timeline would probably get pushed back because of the extensive investigation about the death involved with the Ford owner while using BC. I wouldn't hold my breath very long. šŸ¤«

I'm not sure how I feel about any of the driving systems. I had FSD on a Tesla and while it was improving it was very rough. However it could get me from one point to another in some situations.

I don't trust Blue Cruise at all. Unless they come up with some very cheap prices I won't pay up for it. First, truly I drive very little where it can be used, but when it wants to stop steering with no really noticeable warning it gets a bit dicey, and it will do that on marked roads where it once was steering.

The advantage Tesla can truly exercise some day over all of the other systems is that it evaluates real time and evaluates much more data that is in the real time situation.

Regardless of who you like a little better they are all a long ways off of get in and forget about it.
I always wondered what caused the truck to ā€œblackoutā€ (for lack of a better term) occasionally when using blue cruise? I always wondered if it was a connectivity issue with the modem or GPS but who knows?
I donā€™t use it often but overall itā€™s ok. I donā€™t believe I would pay for it and I have not used any other manufacturers either so no way for me to compare.

Interesting to find my post quoted and see what I wrote just over a year ago. As of March of this year, I pretty much have to take back what I said. I still don't trust BC, mainly because of its disengagements with no audible warning. I drive an area that it will cut off multiple times in a 20 mile area.

The biggest take back I have is the improvement that Tesla has made. In March/April we got the 30 day trial on the Y. Nothing short of unbelievable capabilities. It isn't level 5, I'm not going to trust it without being behind the wheel, but we made a few drives with it completing literally 95% of the trip without any intervention. A near perfect trip 50 miles from downtown Fort Worth to home in North Dallas. Out of a parking lot, through city streets, onto a freeway, 4 or 5 freeway changes, exit 4 miles of city streets to our alley. One single disengagement that I believe it had handled, but I'm not going to be that guy that does have a fender bender because I just wanted to see. I will help it out when needed.

However - we should all note and agree and I recognize - Tesla FSD and BC are different technologies that are not intended to do the same thing. BC was never advertised to do what FSD does.

Wow, I had no idea it was that far advanced now. Did not realize you were that close to me. I have used it a few times on George Bush tollway and once up I35 to Denton but thereā€™s always a lot of traffic on those roads so I err on the side of caution and only use it when thereā€™s not much traffic, which is rare! I did use it for part of my trip home from Maryland when I bought it (Didnā€™t think I would use it, but then I thought what the heck) with my hand on the bottom of the wheel (just in case). I just donā€™t think thereā€™s any substitute for keeping your eyes on the road and watching out for the idiots!

I've used it multiple times from Carrollton to Houston and from Carrollton to Denton and have had zero issues... on the trips down to Houston it was great and I could tell I felt better after the drive as I wasn't as fatigued. I wouldn't pay $$ for it though because we shouldn't have to with the amount of money we spend on these trucks!

Itā€™s worse than that. The original announcement was for before the end of last year (2023).

I can hear Jim now, saying ā€¦..just kidding.
