I’ve been using car scanner with CarPlay, would be nice if we could make our own custom screens with values we’d lIke to track.

You can. Create new pages on your phone and they will show up in the menu. It only supports text, no graphs or gauges. Here’s the one I created a while back to monitor the 12V.

Can you give more info on this app? What scanner do you need to connect to?

Which adapter are you running with this ?
Hard to find a good one that works with IOS…
OBDLink CX works great for me. Whatever you buy, be sure it’s BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy), not older Bluetooth, for less power drain.

I’ve been using this one. I keep it plugged in all the time and I haven’t had any battery drain issues since I got the BMS replaced. It also works with ABRP and displays SOC on the map.

App is called car scanner and the device is Veepeak OBDCheck BLE ($31.99 on Amazon).

For whatever reason I got the + version for $10 more over a year ago. Still don't know what that gives me but I can also recommend it: https://a.co/d/9UHlFG4

I would not trust it to stay plugged in all the time. The OBDLink CX seems like a better choice for that, albeit at twice the price.

That's so helpful. And you just leave it plugged in all of the time?
Yes, I leave it plugged in. Once CarPlay connects to sync I open app on sync screen and tap on connect, when I get to my location I tap on disconnect. If I forget to do this car scanner wont connect the next time and I have to remove OBD device and re insert and this resets it.

CX is nice because it also works with ABRP
MX is nice because it also works with Forscan (and it's faster)

The difference in powe use between ble and "old bluetooth" is negligible.
Once the truck is off and no communication is made both (obdlink anyway) versions will enter a power "saving" mode.

It's working on Android too.
You need Carscanner installed on your phone, then look for the Carscanner app in your list of Android apps on your truck's screen.
Thank you! Last time I looked it wasn't enabled on AA. It's there now, excellent!
