OKay, need help. I hit a deer on the way home a couple of weeks ago and shattered the left front headlight. I ordered a new headlight off of Ebay and received it today. Install went pretty smooth. The problem I am having now is the adaptive headlight (bending left to right in a turn) is not working on the headlight I replaced and that side of the light bar is also not working.

Previously I had enabled glare free with Forscan and it was working perfect, not sure if that is making the new light not work.

Questions I have:

1. Do all headlights come with adaptive functions on the Ford lightnings? Maybe I bought the wrong one.
2. If I did get a headlight without adaptive functions, any way to enable it with Forscan or FDRS I have both?
3. I reset the HCM in Forscan and nothing changed anything else to try?
4. I did the calibration procedure in FDRS, anything else to try?

Thanks for the help.

Okay I fixed the light bar issue by performing the PMI process in the LDCM but still having the issue with the light not turning in the direction of a turn. The passenger light rocks bath and forth during startup but the driver one does not move. The DTC in the HCM is related to a power torque not being measured.

Try resetting to factory settings in Forscan. Had you activated adaptive headlights previously? If so, you can reactivate them after verifying the bending feature works.

Which module do you suggest to reset to factory, the HCM or all that were changed? (APIM, IPMA, SCCM, HCM, IPC)

I am not sure if I activated adaptive headlights, I thought the truck came with those and I activated the Glare free. Is there a setting for Adaptive?

I would just go back to your factory as built files for all modules you hopefully saved beforehand. Just to verify everything is working, then re-apply the glare free mod

Went back to factory and still no swivel. I put my old light back in and it swivels just fine. I guess it's just something wrong with this light.

Can you see any part number tags on both old and new light modules that we can cross patch at tascaparts.com?

You are correct. I forgot what the advanced headlights are called.

I agree. Maybe some versions don't come with advanced feature capabilities.

Did you save the LDCMA/B from your old headlight?

If so I might try writing your old LDCMA/B to the new light. (not sure if left/right is A or B).

If you DO have an old save from the LDCM for fun I would compare it against the old save from the other side, and then also against the LDCM config that is currently on your your replacement.

I did not but since the old one is back in there I can go save the LDCM/A (A is driver side) since it is working and swap the lights again later today and then grab the LDCM from the new one and compare.

Is there a setting in LDCM that activates the "active headlamps" that you are aware of?

Okay I saved the working LDCM for both A & B with the old headlights in the truck.

I then unplugged the old headlight and plugged in the new headlight and saved the LDCM for both A & B.

Using the as built compare tool A compares perfect with A and B compares perfect with B

Just to add to the confusion, I cleared the DTC in the HCM one more time and the stupid thing swivels on startup now. Power cycled the truck a couple of times and it keeps working.

At least now I know the light has the swivel function.

Third power cycle and it stops working and same DTC for swivel motor.

Now I am back leaning to its a programming issue somewhere or a hardware fault, so back to square one.

You said you ordered new off eBay. Was it from a Ford dealer or an individual?

I had a cracked tail light so bought a replacement off eBay from a seller highly-ranked who had sold many of these. But it was a pull from another Lightning. While all the bulbs worked it hyper-flashed when doing a turn signal. Seller allowed me to return it and I bought another one that worked flawlessly.

eBay prices can be half of new dealer cost but there is a chance the item may have an issue that is not obvious.

Will it throw the DTC if you have dynamic bending disabled?
