I've seen a few threads on this issues with multiple solutions. The top corner of my driver side door is proud about 1/16 of a inche. That does not bother me. But was has been very annoying is the rubbing sound I hear when I hit a bump. Also at higher speeds I have had air leaking out of the door. I tried to bend it myself and it seemed to work for a day. Today was the last straw, hit a pothole on the freeway at about 55. It sounded like the door opened. I could hear the shift in the weather stripping all around the door. Before a take if to the dealer want to hear from some of you on what to expect. FYI I have a 24 lariat less then a month old.

I'd bring it in, maybe the body shop has a procedure for tweaking the mounts & striker so that it closes correctly.

VERY simple fix.

At the door hinge, on the door side, is a single bolt. Losen that bolt and you can adjust the door to close that gap.

Don't fully losen the bolt, just back it off a little. It's easier to adjust the door if it still has some tension on it, otherwise it just flops around too much and it's hard to get it exact.

It's also wise to use a pencil and mark where the bracket is now so you know how much you adjusted. You only need a hint of movement.

It's possible to adjust too far too. I did that and now my passengers side door is a bit firm to close.

Edit. Here is the thread

Take it to the dealer. Don’t listen to anyone telling you to adjust the strike plate. I read on one forum about using a piece of wood and tapping the strike plate. I ended up shearing the back of the strike plate it’s been a complete nightmare.

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.
