Will this have any benefit for my 2024 XLT Lane Keeping Ping Pong system?
Does your XLT have Bluecruise? Does it even have lane centering?

I thought the 24 XLT didn't come with BC or lane centering. If I'm correct you don't have any active lane centering. What you are feeling is the lane departure (called lane keeping) alerting you that you are failing to maintain your lane. That is an alert system, not an active driver aid.

OK, very strange.
24 flash lists intelligent adaptive cruise but the 2024 xlt does not, neither list lane centering (at least on the webpage). In the 22s and 23s you cannot have lane centering without adaptive cruise, aka no lane centering in 24 XLT.

However it DOES list Bluecruise 1.2 availabe for the XLT and I don't see any possible way they could give bluecruise without adaptive cruise. On another note it does NOT list the XLT under models that have Bluecruise

Does yours have adaptive cruise?

Just got BC 1.4 on 1/28. MY22 and an EAP member.

So far, so good! I’ve definitely noticed less ping-pong action in the lane, but also full hands-free driving seems to be less available on my normal route. I’ll keep testing this to see if it was just a fluke or a true change. The lane change feature works really well.

Good points, it's not listed in the general search for XLT as a base feature, I wonder if it's optionable?

I did a local inventory search, for any trucks with Blue Cruise, an XLT came up, but looking at the sticker, it does not mention blue cruise or a option upgrade on the truck, looks like vehicle finder gives bad results ...... no surprise @Ford Motor Company

BC 1.2 is listed under interior features.

@Ford Motor Company (Not-AI Brian ;) ) , can you offer any clarity as to if the 2024 XLT is supposed to have Bluecruise

Looks like it could be ordered as an option, but that's based on the forward thinking of dealers spec out builds they ~think~ they can sell.

It'll be nice if MoCo gets' back to custom special ordering for folks who want the right mix of options.

I took a look at the build sheets and I could not find BC listed as either standard or optional equipment for the XLT.

I think the ICE 24 F-150 recieved BC across the line and I think @Ford Motor Company made a mistake on the website.

Went for a quick 150 mile drive after the update and here are my impressions.

1) The truck is far more conservative now. Leaving a ton of room, it’s good and bad as folks cut in where as before it wouldn’t.

2) Initially it ping ponged, REALLY badly. In a way it has never done before. Bad enough that I immediately thought this was not usable and it should be rolled back.

The truck made chunk movements instead of smooth ones. You can tell the frequency of adjustments but it darn near made me carsick. I

3) It seemed to calibrate itself or calm down around 50 miles into the drive. Returning to subtle movements.

4) After it smoothed out the lane changes were perfect. It was smooth, decisive. I never felt it waited too long or was too rushed. The truck is still more conservative than it was before, braking earlier, leaving more room, but otherwise it works well.

5) I drove her head on into the sunset and it didn’t give any errors - comparatively the Rivian, Tesla, and Kia would all disconnect due to the glare.

6) I threw a roof box on top of my Protrax to block the rear bed camera - no issues. So if you have a cap it should be fine there too.

7) On local roads, I’m not a fan. BC 1.0 was pretty liberal. I wouldn’t have hands free but I was able to engage lane centering and still use it. This version doesn’t like the idea and prevented me from using it on 2 lane highways. *I did this early on before 50 miles so I have to try it again later.

That’s it for now….hope yall get yours soon.

I haven’t…never had a software update since I got the truck at the end of November.
Just not that long without an update. Also with a more recent build many updates were installed as latest “as built”
not a single update makes your truck any more awesome than it is today. These are not like ios or android updates.

Regarding #1, this should be configurable if I’m understanding you correctly. There has always been the button with 4 settings for how far back the truck should stay behind the card in front of you. Are you sure you’re not set further back?

It’s still configurable. The truck leaves more space than it did previously at the same setting levels.

What a disaster. Recently, my Blue Cruise and self-driving capabilities seemed to start deteriorating.

Soon, it didn’t work at all, and the truck was not getting any data (LTE or Wi-Fi).

My app couldn’t communicate with the truck, and it was not seeing any Wi-Fi networks. I can’t use the app to set departure times, start the truck, etc. I tried a soft and hard reset of the infotainment system, but it did not fix the problem.

I do not know if this happened trying to download the Blue Cruise 1.4 update. I had to wait a week and a half for an appointment at the dealer, and now it is going to be there for an unspecified period of time as they have to figure out what the problem is and try major software upgrades. I could be out of a truck for days or weeks— who knows?

This happens to my truck all the time. You can try pulling fuse 32. That has been selective for me about fixing the issue. You can also disconnect the 12V battery ground for a minute.
Personally I just unplug the cable from the modem, but that requires you to pull back the trim piece behind the rear passenger side seat.
