I'd rather fry a $500 charger than the truck, for sure. :D
"Surge protector"...some of them really are garbage (had a few of those myself in years past). We have just about everything else in the house on UPS systems. My theory is if whatever I'm protecting costs more than the UPS, the UPS is...
Just had our first power failure after getting the Lightning. Only lasted about 15 minutes, but I ran down to the garage and unplugged the truck in a panic. In retrospect, this was probably foolish, but I wanted to get some insight from you all (I've only had the truck for six weeks). Several...
I bought one of these; I've always put stubbies on my vehicles that have an antenna. Nice and short, very well made.

My wife grew up road-tripping with her family, so a 10 minute break at a rest stop is nothing. :) She just sees it as an opportunity to stretch and read a book! :D
I'm going to share this with anyone who comes at me stating that the Lightning isn't a "real truck".
You guys are also really making me want to get a travel trailer... :D
September 2023 build, really hoping for this update soon...but more likely will see it after the first of the year. That's ok, I'd rather they work the kinks out (*cough* Rivian *cough*). ;)
I'd also go as far as to say that the person driving the CT wasn't as familiar with this type of off-road driving. Traction control systems are one thing, knowing how to feather your throttle/brake on this sort of terrain is also crucial.
Do what I did: order the accessories weeks ahead of time and have them sitting in your garage reminding you that you don't have the truck yet. :D At least I got to install mine already...but those boxes were mean just sitting there... :D
I got the WeatherTech liner and am very happy with it. The stuff I have in the bed doesn't slide around (unless I really put my foot into the throttle) and I like that it's more of a "tray" style with sides to keep stuff from getting underneath.
Great video. My wife and I have considered a travel trailer off and on for years...Airstream is at the top of our list. Nice to see some real-world towing stats on the Lightning!
New owner myself. I had a 220 NEMA 14-50 outlet put in the garage near the driver's side quarter panel (conveniently, right next to my electrical panel) and use the mobile charger. Works fine. I just plug in at the end of the day (like I do my phone) and charge overnight. Install was cheap and...
See, I thought the price was high, but then I've been looking at equivalently-sized Airstream trailers, and they're in the same ballpark...but without the tech. Luxury item, for sure. But I'm really intrigued...and given the power train and other features, I'm thinking this might be in my future...
Doesn't look like this has been mentioned anywhere yet, saw the info a couple weeks ago.

Similar to the Lightship L1, but with some more autonomous/remote features. I'll be very curious to see where this goes.
