Does anyone know why the lightning does this? It’s showing its preparing cabin and battery for departure with no set departure time. Does it happen when it’s cold maybe to warm the battery?

Look in the truck to see if one is set. That’s what controls it and FP may not reflect it.

Yes, that message comes up when the battery is being warmed because it's cold, and plugged in. You would only notice it if looking at the app.

The truck is doing spontaneous battery conditioning only when you see that.

In my observations, it runs for about 10-15 minutes then stops, it may repeat or last longer the worse the cold conditions get.

This is an example I was able to capture with an Emporia energy monitor.

I was wondering about this because I noticed it too. It was my assumption that the truck was warming up the battery in absence of a departure time to which @TaxmanHog has pointed out.

I've observed that even on 110V (which what I'm still using), the truck is still trying to maintain a reasonable temperature of the HVB. Once the session is done, the truck is then charging up to the defined state of charge - which in my case is ~1%.

Again, another gap with Ford's software products is the lack of specificity regarding their notifications which results in confusion like this. E.g. "Preparing cabin and battery for departure" when it should be something like "Conditioning battery" instead. @Ford Motor Company
