Is anyone aware of a better way to track shipment progress? My strategy has been to chat ford daily as the order tracking linking is not the most up to date. I want to be able to tell if it’s sitting stuck in transit. @TaxmanHog have you seen any trends in shipment time?

If you are rail to convoy, you can call your dealer and find out two critical pieces of information: 1) The rail carrier you are on, and 2) the car number you are on. Once you have that information, you can get the phone number for the rail touch trace system. You basically call them and use a phone tree that lands on you entering the rail car identifier and they will tell you where that car is and when it is scheduled to arrive at its destination. There are a few gotcha's I encountered tracking my trucks, but the essential details are outlined in this thread: <Comprehensive Order Tracking Info & Resources For F-150 Lightning>.

Once your truck is off the train, it's kind of a crap shoot how long it will take to get to the dealer.

Gentlemen, I appreciate your support.

1) My order is a base Lariat ER, My only thing was I wanted Antimatter Blue or Black.

2) I fully paid already so my incentive should be baked in even ion its late? I also got 2K off

3) If i ask for my funds back and start talking to other dealerships I know that I will just get annoyed and give up, I just dont have the patience for salepeople. This is really where Tesla is ahead of the game. I did call one other dealership and the first number they throw out is 80K MSRP. Other dealerships I spoke with before did not inspire any confidence. Looking at the Ford site everything in the area is "In Transit" so I'd just be back in the same boat anyways.

4) If anyone knows of a Blue or Black Lariat ER in the NE at a good dealer give me a holler.

5) I did get a flurry of VinView updates, but the problem is that it is gibberish and every update is form the same address - 3001 Miller Rd.

If you are in New England, you are likely to be carried by rail on CSX (one of roughly five tier 1 rail transport networks in North America) to a rail yard in East Brookfield Mass., and be transferred to truck for delivery to your local dealership. This can take 7 - 21 days.

The address you have is the Ford Rouge plant where the Lightning is manufactured. The good news is that the "Released to Carrier" note is the last update you had. That means whatever was holding up you Truck has been resolved. Call your dealer and ask for a vehicle track from Vehicle Visibility. Ask specifically for the Carrier and the Railcar number. here is a screenshot of what my dealer sent me.

I underlined the important information. Note that while my carrier was CSX, it turns out that the carrier of record from Dearborn toBuffalo NY was Norfolk Southern, and the car was transferred to a CSX string in Buffalo. When I started tracking CSX kept saying "no Status" for my car. It turns out that the carriers hand off railcars all the time between themselves, and which tracks the car where is not easy to discern. So if you are getting "No Status" messages, try another carrier. Confusingly each carrier has its own distinct phone tree you need to figure out.

Your next step is to call the touch trace number for CSX and figure out the phone tree to track a railcar.

CSX
1. Call 1-877-744-7279
2. At the first prompt, press "2" on your phone, followed by "1" at the next prompt followed, by "3".
3. When prompted for the car initials, convert the letters to numbers (each letter is a two digit number: the first digit is the keypad number that maps to the letter trio containing your letter (i.e. ABC is "2", DEF is "3") and the second digit is which if the three is you letter (so the sequence DOX would be 316382#) (Letter code: "TTGX" becomes 81814192# ] then wait for the next prompt. Do the conversion before you call.
4. When prompted for the car number, enter your railcar number followed by the pound key.
5. When prompted for next number say DONE
6. That's it; enjoy your updated status report.

My calls went like this: 2,1,5,81814192#, 851640#, #

Finally, if you have already paid, you should have had the ford cash incentive baked in to your bill. After taxes and the 2k discount it should have been around 73k plus or minus? If that is the case, and your truck is on the carrier, then the only thing you have to bear is the weight of waiting 2-3 weeks. Your dealer took a risk invoicing you when they did. My dealer still refuses to let me pay for my current truck until it is on the back of an 18-wheeler on the way to the dealership. They would be on the hook for the $7500 loss if the cash offer from Ford expires before they can actually sell me the truck.

@WhipSticks I actually spoke to Healy this AM and they cant sell anything that is not in inventory by policy, I guess it hasn't hit yet. I'll try them again in a couple of days.

I did speak with ford marketing and they said that it is released to carrier and to give a couple of days and then it would skip though to built+shipped.

Your blend date was supposed to be 11/4 if I recall? Are you "Built" yet, and awaiting delivery or are you still "In Production?"

In transit, I'd be patient for this one, could be any time latest ETA shows 12/2 on the outside date.
