Why did Ford opt to not let us combine HDPP with 302a? Push people to superduty?

Pretty much sums it up. Folks like me/us that uses our truck as a daily driver (office worker) and occasional tow recreationally (6-8 times a year) don't need anything beyond a 250. HDPP pretty much tops the 150 as far as beefiness, but you have to compromise bells and whistles to get the max payload. At 2541 payload for me give me a peace of mind....YMMV.

Bang on! I am in the same boat.. Finding that nice combo of 302A/MaxTow/HDPP would check all the boxes for me. Is there a reason why it needs a 6' box for HDPP? Finding these on lots is impossible. Even finding Max and 302A together is a challenge. Was hoping not to have to wait 12 to 16 weeks.

Also hoping to hit at least 18-19k payload if I get just Maxtow option. Do I need a 6' box to do that?

Yeah I was having issues even finding just Max Tow with 302A so ordered. Didn’t want to go with the bigger box so compromised and left out HDPP. Will likely be disappointed with my payload sticker when it gets here but can make due ??‍

Yeah, once or twice a year I load up a 980# tuck camper and fishing boat... when all is said and done, i'm around 1750# of my 1844# payload. Would have easily paid way more than the 1500 extra to get the HDPP with 302A. Oh well.
