Officially apart of the club!!!!! Thank you so much everyone for the help….especially monsterlag. Not the best picture but here she is!

Here’s the breakdown of my deal. Not the best as we only get 5k lariat cash here in the Midwest but I’m very happy with it. Missouri dealership and residence for reference

80085 MSRP
-7030 dealer discount
-5000 Lariat Rebate
-3750 X Plan Rebate (2750+1000)
-500 First Responder rebate
-7500 EV Point of Sale

56305 sale price

I had a trade in which my best offer through Car Max, Carvana, Autonation, etc was 16500. They gave me 18000 for it so you could technically add another $1500 to the dealer discount. I left it off to make it cleaner.

Here’s how I finally got it across the finish line. I was working 1 on 1 with the owner. We went round and round on the X Plan rebates as that was the only hold up. He was adamant you could not combine dealer discount with the X plan rebate. I brought up the idea why don’t you use X plan pricing, and add the “dealership discount” number to my trade in. They agreed. With this, my numbers on the sales sheet are different than what I put above, but the final number is still the same. Thanks again!!! I have so much to learn!

Holy shit CONGRATS! It doesn’t matter how you got there as long as the end result is the same. You had incredible patience to see it through to the end.

I appreciate your help! I wouldn’t have made it over the finish line without you! Your pics and guidance helped convince this dealer I was serious about buying from the Northeast (I was) and having it shipped to the Midwest. It took running this X Plan rebate plus discounts by about 15 different dealers, and I finally found one hungry enough to put in the effort and work with me to make it happen. The last truck I bought was in 2013 and wow….post COVID dealerships have either gotten lazy, forgot how to actually sell, or both. Either way, thanks so much for your help. If I can help anyone as well, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I would love to pay it forward.

Seeing the same in northern NJ. The dif between the dealerships here and NY state was night and day.

do you hide your license plate while driving or parked at a business? what's the point?
also did you get the $500 from NYS clean vehicle rebate program?

I just did it out of habit, chill brah.

I did not get NYSERDA rebate since I only intend to keep the car for 2 years(rebate requires you to sign a document saying you will keep it for 3 years or more).

Makes sense brah 😝 I wonder how well NY actually tracks that.

They really don’t but NYSERDA has given me SO MUCH money over the years(insulation, solar etc) that I didn’t push it for a paltry $500.

Went to look at upgrading to Lariat SR. Not sure. What say ye:
  • 75k msrp
  • 9k discount (7k Ford, 2k dealer I think)
  • With tax credit total off is $16500 but I have to put up the $7500 no point of sale
  • Offered 43k for my SR XLT
Not quite sure

I will fix that, the extra $1000 is from X-Plan not local.

Nope!

That’s a piss poor discount from the dealer. Also you should be looking at ERs since they have $7500 rebate cash. At the bare minimum you want $5-$6k discount from the dealer before any rebates.

Also why get attached to a dealer at all? Find one that can do POS. I shopped my initial offer to many dealers, even out of state.

I love that everyone in the Northeast is getting these amazing deals! Obviously, the rest of us are quite jealous. Anyway, if anyone outside the NE can make a replicable deal, please share (once you lock yours in, of course). I get the feeling the rest of us (especially in the southeast) are struggling to get a good one. Maybe once one of us can get one it will open the floodgates! Though I sincerely doubt I’ll find one in Florida. I think the dealers are especially bad here. I miss being In Michigan where the dealers were used to working with all the employees, and it felt like there was much less bait and switch going on with advertised deals. It also seemed like the dealers there actually wanted to work to get you the best discount because they knew they could do well on volume.
There is Ourisman Ford in Manassas VA with good discounts and 20 Lightnings. The discount for Lariats is $17,000 off of MSRP, but this also includes the Federal tax credit - assuming you qualify.

As stated above, rebates/incentives are purchaser zip code dependent, not based on dealer location.
