2024 Flash with 2K miles. I was experiencing a vibration and a loud humming noise that pretty much happened out of the blue. I Did a bunch of research and came up empty-handed. Then I dropped the truck off at the dealer and got a call that the axle had not been “seated correctly from the factory” and had basically self-destructed and taken the front driver side bearing assembly with it. Apparently the axle is backordered until June. The bearing is 3 to 5 days out. They can potentially find another axle across the country and ship it, but are unsure of that as of now. I’m wondering if there are any Ford techs or anyone intimately familiar with the vehicle that can comment on whether or not this repair will be a “one and done” straight forward fix? Or, will the damage that has been done potentially lead to future issues. In other words, should I pursue a buyback as the vehicle is only three weeks old? It seems like a pretty severe drivetrain issue to have in such a young vehicle. Thanks.

In most states your truck would need to be at the dealer for at least 30 days for the same issue before you are eligible for the state lemon law. The buyback eligibility roughly follows whatever your state lemon law rules are in my experience.

Add your location to your profile and you may be able to get some more accurate responses.

Thank you. I’ll update my profile. In the meantime, I’m in Massachusetts.
I would imagine that MA has consumer focused lemon laws. Read up and learn those before calling the BEV team so you know what you're getting into. Keep detailed notes with dates, times, and the names that of people that you talk to about your truck. Best of luck and I hope everything turns out favorable for you.

I doubt this would be a reoccurring thing. It was either assembled wrong or one of the parts they are replacing was machined wrong. Either way both possibilties will be solved by the repair.

Did they provide a loaner vehicle? If so what is it and does it work for your application.

If it happened to me, I would need something comparable for my occupation of plumbing.

MA has a very consumer friendly Lemon Law. 15 business days out of service in the 1st year and 15,000 mile qualifies.

Push Ford for a replacement or file @ 15 business days out of service.

I‘ve successfully used Florida LL 2 times with Ford.

I would tend to agree - I have a 2023 Lariat ER with almost 67,000 miles on it now and I have only ever had issues with the TCU (telematics communications unit) - never had mechanical issues.

I wonder if I have something similar. Got the truck last month with ~1400 miles on it so far. Did a road trip last week and now I hear a humming noise on the front driver side, can faintly hear it below 40 but above 40 it's loud (to me), and I can feel vibration through my pedals. Waiting for the dealer to open to give them a call.

That sounds exactly like my issue. Turns out it was a loose axle nut. It necessitated the replacement of the axel and wheel bearing assembly. 7 days in the shop.

Had to call around to a few dealers to get an appointment, so hopefully it's not far enough gone that it can be fixed quickly without replacing anything.
