‘23 Lightning Platinum
Hi all - new here but been lurking for a bit - bought my ‘23 Lightning Platinum in October, and have been one of the lucky ones where updates started rolling in about 10 days after I purchased the truck. My Lighting menu had the Glare Free toggle from the beginning, and I turned that on. Most recently, got the 10.1.0 update, then 6 days later I got 10.1.1. I noticed that Glare Free is gone from the Lighting menu, but now I have Auto High Beam (which is in the same position as where Glare Free was). Did Ford rename this feature? I ask because I still have the wig-wag headlight animation when I start my truck, I have the green A indicator for the lights, and I still have the adaptive headlight functionality. As far as I can tell, when I approach reflective signs on the highway, they seem to dim a bit, but I also could be imagining things.

Guessing you bought it used since glare free isn't enabled from the factory and requires FORScan?

No, I bought it new with 26 miles on it - it did have Glare Free where Auto High Beams is located, but at some point, that changed. I’m wondering if anyone else who has not used Forscan and had Glare Free is seeing the same thing.

Are you in Canada? It is only factory enabled in Canada, in the US we have to enable it with Forscan.

Nope, not in Canada, and I did have the toggle when I drove the truck off the lot. I know I’m not hallucinating, and I am the first owner of the truck.

odd. Maybe you found a unicorn or maybe it illegally crossed the border lol. The green A is what I have with glare free after enabling in FORScan. Regular auto high beams should be white
That’s what I’m trying to figure out. I’ve had the green A ever since I turned on the Glare Free option sitting in the dealer lot - I was the geek that read the manual the night before and then went through every menu futzing with every setting I could find. LOL

Just for the record, it is not factory enabled on all units in Canada. Maybe only a few, or only early ones? I don't know if anyone has researched. My 23 XLT ER built May 23 didn't have it.

use forscan and tell us what u see!
If I had any way of doing that I would - don’t have the cable, software, or a tablet to run it. But if there’s someone around WV/VA that does I’m game!

My early Canadian '23 Lariat ER had it from the start (built November '22). Wondering if it was by trim level for the '23s.

I don't have a good explanation as to why glare free was enabled in your truck without you doing it, but OTA 10.1.0 that comes right before 10.1.1 is an APIM update that could have restored the setting in the touchscreen from glare-free to auto high beams. You would need to re-enable the toggle for it with FORScan.
