Anyone know of an adapter that will allow conversion from L5-30P to whatever the 220v power point in the bed is?

I can probably do some digging and find this, but am hoping someone might know quickly, as I'm on my way to the hardware store now. I discovered when I was about to start up our wood splitter at my property in Wisconsin that the cables that I had procured way back when I bought my Lighting a couple years ago do not actually have the right plug for the bed. Does anyone know what the NEMA adapter is that fits the bed and whether I would have any issues using L5-30P adapters converted to whatever the truck is?

Unlikely to find that in a hardware store. What you need is an L14-30P to L5-30RR. Readily available on Amazon or to order from various places online.

Thank you! Much appreciated. Guess I won't get my hopes up that I will find it in-store and will just order and hope it gets to me in time.

You CAN find L14-30 plugs at the big box stores in case changing the plug on your equipment or cable would be an option.

FYI - I use this one, from AC Works.

FYI also - this outfit is in Wisconsin and actually has a pickup location somewhere in Wisconsin, to avoid shipping fees. I've used several adapters from them in the past. They are all very well-made.

I'm no electrician, but I believe the l5-30p is a 30 amp 120v plug. Be careful adapting it to a 240v outlet
O my, you are correct.
@bellyer If your equipment runs on 120v, you are probably best using a commercial adapter.
You could still use an L14-30p if you connect your neutral wire(should be white) to the neutral, ground to ground(should be green), and "hot"(should be black) to either L1 or L2.
This is what the commercial adapter would be doing.
I have read about issues of having an unbalanced load on a 240v circuit, but I have no experience on this being a problem.

I have an adapter like this that actually came with my truck.
This allows a 14-50p to plug into a L14-30r, but this is not what the OP is looking for.
He wants to plug a L5-30p into his L14-30r.

Excellent callout! It looks like the adapter I got for charging EVs from that 240v receptacle and the extension cable I had bought are all wrong. Ugh, I was pretty confident that I had gone with cables that had been recommended through this site way back when, but maybe unselected the wrong ones. It looks like the cables I have are a max of 125v. Guess I'm replacing these and have no idea what to do with them now... 😩

Well, that *was* what I wanted, but now thanks to @Tfarrell73 pointing out the voltage concerns, I'm now in the market for an all new extension cable and EV charging adapter for the 240v receptacle...

Now I'm confused, I thought you wanted to plug your log splitter into the 240v outlet in the bed of your lightning.
Now you mention "EV charging adapter for the 240v receptacle."
Are also you wanting to charge another ev from the 240v outlet in the bed?

I have use cases for both. I had bought a 125v L5-30p extension cord a couple of years ago when I bought the truck that I intended to use with the 240v outlet and was hoping to use it to power my log splitter this week, but the adapter was wrong. Then, in the course of this discussion today, I also realized that the adapter I had bought that would allow charging of my Mach-E or other EVs from the 240v outlet is also 125v L5-30p, so I assume I can't use that either.

OK then I would say you need the adapter 21century showed you above to charge the Mach-E.
But you shouldn't use an extension cord, the charger cord should be long enough.
For the log splitter, you're better off without an extension cord, and an L14-30p on the end of the log splitter's cord. If an extension cord is needed, I would say at least 10 gauge with the L14-30p on one end and whatever mates with the log splitter (hopefully an L14-30r).

The AC Works website has a bunch of good well-made adapters. Happy Hunting!
