Our 2023 Model X has been a roller coaster and seriously considering trading it in for a Lightning Platinum.

What's the experience been like for those who moved over from a Model X? One major complaint that seems to come up is the infotainment complared to Tesla, and how it's rather slow. Is it that bad, especially coming from a Tesla? Also, how has range been on the Lightning compared to the Model X?
You'll very much miss the Tesla software. Unless you really need a truck, I would do it.

I own a 2020 Model X and a 2022 lightning lariat; the lightning is my daily driver. It's comfortable and secure. The model X has so many nuances. The X is in the garage but pulling it out of the garage (in the winter) is often accompanied by condensation in the pillar cameras. Condesation of the pillar cameras causes the autopilot to shut down but my local Tesla service center says that the remedy is preheating the cabin with defrost on full mode. Putting four or five people in the lariat is much less complicated than putting four people in the model x - the falcon wing doors just do not reliably raise all the way up for passengers to comfortably enter the rear seat. There are many more annoyances with the Model X (I really liked my 2015 Model S) but I've come to resent Musk, who heralded climate conern and sold out to a climate change denier occupying 1600 Pennsylvania Ave! Go with the Lightning if those are your choices.
Politics shouldn't be living rent free in your head no matter what you're driving. Are you aware of Fords shady past?

Dooms Day Alert! Come on man, you can Disagree with the policies but don't act like the country wont make it to its 250th B-day.
Happy to debate in the proper forum for political debate.
Just pointing out that Ford cooperating with Nazis was in the past.
Musk's work with "Dictator on Day 1" is happening now.

Much happier with our 2024 Lightning XLT than our 2020 Model X.

We had so many problems with our Model X that we sent a self-drafted/non-lawyer lemon law letter to Tesla in California in 2023.

Remarkably, Tesla wrote back offering to buy back the car from us and pay off our loan. That was their opening offer without any negotiation. It was basically like getting a free car for three years/40k miles.

Good on Tesla for taking care of us.

I wrote Tesla to buy back ours and they denied it. I just wrote them again to appeal. How long did it take to get a decision back?

I think they wrote us back within a couple weeks max. It was quick and easy. I'm not sure how common this practice is.
I'm bouncing back and forth between wanting to wait and see if they accept my buyback appeal, or just take what is being offered and trade the sucker in and get a Lightning.

I'm just tired of all the rattling, squeaks, noises and issues. Nobody should have to deal with all of that on a 1 year old car.

He's not a dictator. If he were doing that it would imply he is doing things against the constitution and nobody in their right mind is accusing him of that. You are just projecting your political confirmation bias. And besides that, you bought your truck before the election so stop pretending like you made the choice after that fact.
