I have had my 2022 Lariat ER for a few months now. I LOVE the self driving aspect of the Bluecruise technology, but am really disappointed in the timing sensitivity of the look away monitoring of the system.
Prior to owning the Lightning I had a 2022 Ford Maverick. It did not have the fully hands off functionality of the Bluecruise, but did have Lane Centering which allowed for approximately 10-15 seconds of hands off / look away capability. The Lightning’s Bluecruise starts fussing after maybe 5 seconds of you looking away or down at the dash display (not the big screen, I mean the driver’s instrument display). Hell, I can barely check the settings displayed there in the amount of time before it starts fussing.
Seems like they got those two vehicle features backwards.
Okay, I’m done venting now. I still am a fan, but that short coming (My Opinion) is frustrating.
Anyone else feel the same or is it just me?
