Having lived in the rust belt I can tell you that many many cars have perfectly fine brakes years, even a decade or more, after the bleeder rusts up.

Heaven forbid that rubber cap falls off...
I assume the rubber cap was invented recently and put into service starting with 2022 Lightnings? I've never seen one prior to that.😆

I’ve seen em on a few vehicles, but unfortunately they get lost more easily then valve stem caps lol

Speaking of brake bleeders - and not needing a brake job for a decade at a time...does this mean the Salt-Belt Lightnings should 'exercise' those bleeders BEFORE they weld themselves into the cast-iron ?!!

I mean, with one-pedal-drive (which I thought I wouldn't like, but I love it) the 'real' brakes dont' see much action, and will no-doubt last a very very long time. (I expect they will need replacement from rust-jacking long before wearing out).

I have been making a habit of switching off the one-pedal drive mode on the highway every Monday on my way to the City - just to actually use the real brakes, and keep them moving/rotors shiny and rust-free.

Make sure to brake hard. Regen is always used first even if using the pedal. If you brake hard it will turn also use the mechanical brakes

I shift to neutral - I figured that means the motors can't do the regenerative thing. {does it?}

There isn't any mechanical disconnect so they could, however I don't think they do.
When in neutral, the motor controller does not induce energy on the field windings to create drive or reactance on the spinning rotor, essentially coasting with the permanently fixed axles only the friction of the brake pads on rotors and tire resistance will slow the vehicle.

Good To Know!
Back to the brakes discussion, I am looking for a tire and rim combination for a set of dedicated winter tires that will go on in November, I will keep the stock tires and rims for summer running.
So November will likely be the first time I take a look at the brakes and pads. I will try to remember to never-seize the bleeders !!

Does anyone know if we can get matching Ford Rims - I mean at a normal price. I have seen the gunmetal rims on Detoit Wheel and Tire IIRC about $450 per Rim. Maybe you guys know where to get the best price...?

If you want to go the stock route be on the lookout for takeoffs. For the price of a new set of tires you can get wheels, tires, and TPMS sensors. I suppose that complicates the snow tire plan but it's an option.
