I think this was my problem. I didn’t set any preferred charge times as I like it to charge when I plug it in. However, one of the “preferred settings “ is the charge limit and I do want it to stop at 90%. I think it is working now, so thanks for the advice
Also make sure that the app shows the location selected as "Use preferred charge settings", not "Charge when plugged in"

Yup that part of the instruction is flawed due to the failure to retain history.

You can recreate a saved location by:

Driving the truck a few minutes away from your home so that the GPS system tracks a a fresh location.

Park at your regular home charging spot in the driveway or garage.

Plug in the truck and allow the EVSE to begin charging (assuming your battery is low enough, ei your not already at 100%)

After the charging begins, use the trucks Sync screen, go to the Charging menu in settings.

Slide the screen so you can see the the option for locations, begin the process of creating the new location, set the max percentage, then go to the next screen to set the first option weekday start & stop times, then tap weekends to adjust the start & stop times for Saturday and Sunday, then save the configuration.

After a few minutes this configuration should appear on the list of saved locations, make sure it's active (switched) on.

Later look at Ford Pass, you should see it listed in the "Preferred Charge Times" section under the "Saved Locations" selecting that you can rename it or adjust the parameters, note if you make adjustments always revalidate the start and stop times for weekday and weekend. then save the modifications.

Also make sure that the app shows the location selected as "Use preferred charge settings", not "Charge when plugged in"
Got home and did what you said and it worked. Thanks.

Hate to revisit this old thread, but I am having the same issues. However, the instructions above don't seem to work for me, maybe there's been a systems update since then . When I try to add a location, the truck always says you must charge at a location before you can add it. I charge at home everynight and it still won't recognize. I've unplugged the 12 and reset all navigation settings just in case.

Any ideas appreciated.

After deleting all prior stored charging locations, take the truck a for a short drive around the neighborhood, etc. That should be enough for the GPS to get it's bearings, (hopefully you don't have GPS issues).

Return to your home charge location, hopefully your SOC is lower than your intended set point ie. 85, 90, 95, 100%

Plug into your charger, if it's a third party with TOU timing built in, disable that temporarily such that it's making juice available at the moment.

Then, switch truck to ACCESSORY or ON mode, go into the truck side Charging application, begin the process of creating the first scheme, if a GPS coordinate pops up instead of an address, roll with it, don't waste time trying to pick the actual address your parking spot is located at.

Set your max charge and time frames, set for weekday and weekend routines, then save it.

Once stored, you can edit and adjust the name {Home, Work, custom} save any subsequent modifications.

If you still have problems, test the Ford Navigation to see if the GPS location is accurate, maybe you have an issue with that, loose antenna wire, module defective, etc.

Thanks! I was able to do this at another location, it gave me gps coordinate btw. Unfortunately, I can set up a location at any charger other than at my home. I have no issues anywhere else. That's the strange thing about all this.
