I agree 100%. Talking with Ford is a nightmare. Nobody knows anything and I can tell everyone who has tried to help me has not driven one of these vehicles.

Is it Ford's goal to keep everyone up and current or are there batches holding some of us back months?

BTW, I received 4.2.11 all the way to 6.2, and the Super Charger update last night. I hope they snap me current and keep me/us there!
There is no goal to keep everyone current. Your expectations don't tie to reality.

I'm not challenging you, I'm trying to understand. Have they come out and said this?

I have had a Mach-E for nearly 3 years, been on that forum and this one for years.

They don't come out and say anything.
If that's your expectation, you will be very disappointed. Neither the dealerships nor the phone support will be able to give you better info as to updates than this forum. This forum is about 50% as techy as the Mach-E forum, which is very skewed to early adopters / engineers or software developers. They are all over the updates.

Vehicles don't get updated when they sit at dealerships. Once sold, they are eligible for updates. When they get them is when Ford queues up an update for that vehicle. Nothing is published, nothing is promised. Every now and then, they will corporately say something like "BlueCruise 1.2 coming this summer". That turned into 1.3, then 1.4. No vehicle has any of these updates, they have the version of BlueCruise that they came from the factory.

This isn't a phone, nor PC. Expectations of monthly updates, complete update notes, etc. will be quickly dashed.

As someone did, I recommend you enjoy your truck and not focus on updates.

Is there something about Charge Assist/Public Charging that makes it really important for you to have?

I was a beta tester for CA on my MME and there are some functional limitations that cause me to ignore it completely. So I'm curious as why it's that important to you.

You can't use it while driving, it doesn't show you all of the chargers (only ones that are </=150kW) and it doesn't pass any info to the nav system for pre-conditioning......so 🤷‍♂️

Wait is this a factual statement or a defensive one? Are you employed at Ford????

how dare we as customers have an expectation of timely updates!

"This isn't a phone, nor PC. Expectations of monthly updates, complete update notes, etc. will be quickly dashed."

I agree any hopes of this are dashed based on current experience but your comparison of the Lightning to a phone or PC is a false comparison.

You need to compare Ford OTA's to its competitors: Rivian, Tesla and soon to be GM. Right now Ford is way behind the curve in relation to updates compared to its peers! No doubt you'll suggest I buy one of those products but that's not the point, nor is it even a logical argument. I bought the Lightning with the expectation that it would be better than its peers not simply equal to them, in some case in my opinion it knocks it out of the park but in terms of OTA updates its a disaster.

I'm confused why you think it's ok to accept this, if you're ok with exceptionally poor communications and OTA update scheduling thats fine, knock yourself out, but that's no reason for those of use who aren't to air that view in hopes Ford will correct it.

The true reality is Ford will have to improve the OTA experience, when that is is anybody's guess.

Again for perspective. My truck was purchased on Jan 9th 2024, its now March 27th.

I am currently on 6.4.0 which lacks multiple features I would like to have, even if you don't feel they are important that's irrelevant, I want to be able to make that determination for myself. Given my trucks hardware is identical to other trucks that have received subsequent updates months before I even bought my truck, there is no engineering reason why those updates can't be pushed.

In summary there is no reasonable justification for such OTA delays other than poor planning and lack of OTA infrastructure at Ford.

I have Charge - but have only received 4.2.1.1 and 4.2.1.2 updates. This is so frustrating , given its a great Truck.
Interesting. I have 6.4 followed by the Tesla Super Charging update and I still do not have Charge Assist.

Have you had the battery module replaced?

My Charge Assist app hangs as well. I rebooted without any success. It's not an app I use often so I'm not sure how long it's had this problem. I hope it's not related to the recent dealership visit when I had all the various fixes done to the truck...

What am I missing here? What is this providing me that I didn’t already have? Is this because the new Ford Pass sucks and they are trying to go back in time? With my 2022 Lightning with the original app, I pulled in, it recognized my truck by VIN (participating vendors) and charged and billed my Ford account. What really bit was what still is the same to my knowledge, the Ford App DOESN’T recognize when you have a discount from a vendor the Ford App supports. I had the discounted rate with Electrify America because I had a membership, and Ford recognized the full rate per kW, when I paid $0.10 cheaper using EA’s app.
