I got my Lightning in October 2023. It was my second EV (first was a 2019 iPace). The Lightning has been great except for the problem I had with the front sensor often throwing the front sensor not available error - usually when slowing down. The problem would happen to me almost every time I drove the truck. I took it to the dealer earlier this year and they dismissed the problem since they "couldn't reproduce the problem". I received the CSP 24B56 letter last week and was thrilled to read that it should address my problem. However, I am very confused about this because of the following:
1) I have not yet called my dealer to handle this CSP because my problem seemed to go away last week right after the truck performed a couple of OTA updates. I was under the impression that an OTA update would not address this problem and the truck would have to go to the dealer, but I have NOT noticed the problem ever since the last OTA update that occurred sometime last week... Is it possible that my problem did get fixed in my last OTA? Is there any way I can get more info on what OTA's just got applied and what they fixed? Do you think I should have the CSP done or should I just wait and see if my problem comes back??
2) One of the other posters (@cranesrule ) said they had this CSP fix done back in June and it took care of their problem. How could that CSP be known and fix the problem in June if it just got sent out last week (September)?
3) If this CSP was previously known, why did they wait until just now to send it out and why did my dealer have no clue how to fix the problem earlier this year when I took it in?
4) Why was my dealer so completely unhelpful? Couldn't they see the front sensor error the logs? Or is it possible the error was not logging? I am always very suspicious of the dealership and wonder if they are properly trained.
5) I am an IT person by trade, but I don't know anything about how software works in a vehicle. How can I get more visibility into what is installed, what is pending, what versions, etc? Can I see what version my PSCM and IPMA are since those are the ones that this CSP discusses? I have seen others post screenshots from what appears to be an API app or some other programs. Are there other apps that give me more visiblity?

See Mike G.'s original post in this thread: https://www.f150lightningforum.com/...certain-2022-24-f-150-lightning-trucks.21145/, particular the attached dealer bulletin that defines the vehicles elgible to receive the IPMA update as all vehicles in the listed build date range.

That point is emphasized in the following two posts in that thread:

1) get it fixed, it's a much bigger PITA if you wait beyond the CSP period
2) It likely wasn't a CSP yet, and Ford was still figuring out that it affected everyone and not just a few people.
3) Your dealer was shitty, and can't see past the high-margin oil changes. They didn't bother to diagnose it properly, which is why it took so long for it to become a CSP
4) They didn't want to be, or they were inept, or both. There's very little money in this repair for them. They more they can play dumb till you leave, the more high-margin work they can do.
5) Look up the FDRS threads. It's expensive to get in to, but it's what the dealer service techs use, so you can do just about anything with it.

My dealer finally got back to me (though I wasn't pressing them) and performed (updated) the Battery Management System and the software update for the Inoperative Front Parking Sensors. (The camera resolution seems much improved; is that an outcome of the update, or because I never bothered to wipe clean the lenses?)

The Front Hatch Control Module was also reprogrammed, though I was unaware of any problem with this, plus the rear lightbar replaced. All this on my 22 Lariat ER with just an overnight stay at the dealer-- I appreciate their dispatch in getting all this done!

If I had more technology band width I would definitely want the software allowing me to dig deeper.I have had the same front sensor notifications very occasionally since purchased last November. Never bothered to deal with it.
Then the frunk stopped opening fully. Took it in last week and told them about both problems.

Came home and received the notice in the mail that same day reg the fr
nt sensor. Interesting timing….

They kept the truck overnight to run the update. Both issues resolved. Also added coolant.

The only other issue I have had was the recall on the battery sensor.

While the customer service and professionalism of my local dealership is sorry lacking, they do get it done.

I recently purchased a 23 Lariat and have seen this error message sporadically (3 times total). Additionally, my camera does not automatically come on when I'm parking. It sounds like this CSP is my issue, but I haven't received a letter nor can I see it in my Ford.com vehicle dashboard.

With my issue mirroring the CSP, will a dealer service it even without a letter?

Are you the original owner?
Do you have the FordPass app?
I also have a 23 lariat and received the CSP notification in the FordPass app and additionally received a letter from Ford about the CSP.
Even without the letter, if it is an issue, they should fix it under warranty but as others have said, sometimes they need to replicate the issue and if it is only happening rarely that could be a problem?

No, I'm not the original owner. The CSP isn't showing up in the App or online. My recall list says No Recalls, No CSPs

The letter to dealers does say they should repair it for any owner with this issue. Not sure about the requirement to reproduce, but I'm assuming they can test the sensor itself. I believe it is an issue that the camera doesn't come on when parking either way.

What is your manufacture date (it’s on the sticker inside the driver door)? If it falls in this range then the dealer is supposed to do the update. They can also check your VIN in Oasis to see if it is on the list.
