hey y’all, what are you finding? Just got my tesla adapter, curious to know the diff. The few time I charged with Electrify, it was $0.56/kwh, very expensive! (was the same price with eVgo). The one nice thing on the evGo charger, it was 350kw, fast!

I don't know where your at but the prices vary dramatically in the PNW. Your best bet is to investigate the specific area your are interested in. Charging stations within a 1/4 mile can cost $0.20 more or less. On our routes Tesla without the discount is the cheapest. You can find the prices using the route planning web sites.

Costs are not the same on a network, i.e. every location can be different. Some networks, at some locations, vary pricing by time of day, including Tesla and EVgo.

Tesla has a membership plan that for $12.99 a month provides a roughly 20% discount. Sign up morning of trip, then downgrade, takes effect in 30 days.

EA has Pass+, $7 a month, 25% discount, sign up same as Tesla. I believe EVgo has a plan too, but I don't use them.

Right, I should have added that - all the apps show their pricing. Tesla may be cheaper than other options in some places, but the opposite can be true. There is no rule except always check pricing, don't assume.

...and state-set utility-regulated electricity prices vary greatly as well, far more than I had expected earlier in my EV experience. In our travels (Mach E and Lightning) in the past 30 months, we've seen major traction battery fill-up prices as high as $42+ for New York State and as low as $7+ for Wisconsin and Utah. EV charging networks have to generally adapt to state requirements.

Some Tesla sites on the same I5 exit have different rates. Exit 88 in Rochester WA - new stations are $0.42, older stations are $0.38.

I have found that fast chargers are so few and far between that the last thing I look at is the cost. I’m just glad a space is open (available) so I don’t have to wait. When chargers are 100 miles apart and your remaining range is 100 miles, your options are limited. Since less than 10% of my charging is on fast chargers, cost just isn’t an issue.

P.S. The Tesla chargers have certainly taken a lot of stress away! If only their cables were 3 ft longer!

Traveling from LA to Pheonix cannot find a Tesla charge that works on the Ford. Forced to use EA and wait in line for one of the three working units. Dissappointed that out of 89 Tesla chargers none work with Ford.
