They drop the battery compartment, which has all the modules and high power contactors.
They remove the cover, remove the affected modules (arrays) leaving those with no issue in the pack, balance the new module to the pack voltage, install the new replacement module(s), pressure tests when cooling loops have been disturbed, close up the pack with the cover, reinstall under the truck, connect all the cables and cooling hoses, etc. the process could take up to 13 hours of direct labor plus side time for the module balancing process.

Interesting. I have that notification as well.

So if I understand the CSP its only really a problem if for contacts you. Otherwise it’s just a software update that can be done at the dealer or via an OTA later this year.

I checked the Ford support recall website. My truck, which is one of the 10,000+ still sitting in Dearborn undelivered, is subject to this CSP. I'm relieved the issue will be sorted out before it leaves Dearborn and my local dealership won't have to use this CSP as a learning exercise for their staff should my truck need a HVB replacement.

This is likely a contributing factor as to why so many trucks have been piling up at the plant undelivered. I'll rationalize and believe this is the case as it is better than no news.

Yes, let’s hope so. Also, let’s hope Ford was able to develop an inspection/test procedure that produces high confidence results, i.e. problem/no problem. I’m sure we will soon see the technical instructions service departments are receiving to perform the CSP.

I got this CSP message this morning when I went to see if the Wiper Motor recall notice was cleared (the changed it last week via mobile service).:oops:
So they are coming at Noon (now 830am) to bring me a new Frunk panel as a clip was lost. Gonna see if they can do it Mobile 🤞

Just curious if any of you have received this. Today I logged into my Ford account and found two recalls. The first one I knew about, the rear light, but now I also had the below High voltage battery module or software recall.

Anybody else get this? My plan was to wait until the rear light parts are available and then make an appointment. Is this something serious or just a software update?

No warning in the truck or otherwise notifications.

I got this CSP as well... I really hope I can just get an OTA update, and not go into the shop. I know everyone is well trained, but I really don't want anyone messing around with my battery pack for which I primarly charge to only 90% and had only 1 DC fast charge... lol.

Dang, now it shows on my wife's truck as well. Called the dealer back and they may try it mobile at noon today.

They said they have everthing in stock now. It’s 50 miles to the dealer so if they don’t I’m gonna be pissed.
My Lightning is in the shop for a battery module replacement. The dealer sent me a text yesterday that they had ordered parts for the rear lightbar and the parts would be delivered tomorrow. The lightbar replacement was not on the original work list (on 7/31/2023!) due to unavailable parts.

4% of 36,611 trucks = 1,464 total needing new modules, I wonder how many have already been addressed?
