I got an email from my reservation last week and I went ahead and ordered a Lariat extended range. I received a generic response from my dealership asking if I had any questions.

I followed up that email with this question, "I'm just following my order status online. It looks like "order acceptance" is the next step for the dealership? Do you need any more input from me?"

Here is the dealership response, "Not yet. We haven't been given any info on orders. When we do, we will reach out to those with orders. Thanks."

This seems strange to me. He made it sound like they haven't received any orders yet. Is this common? Is it going to put me behind on my build date?

There's a lot of great info on this forum. Thanks for your help.

Did the dealer accept your order? Do you have a build date on the did website?

Thanks for the reply. No, my order has not been accepted, but my credit card has been charged $500.

It seems that in earlier waves, the dealers received order notices shortly after an order was placed. Either that means your dealer is confused with the process, or maybe the last wave timing was different?

If close by, take a drive down and talk to the GM.. ask him to double check their system on their end and show them a print out of your online order.

Ifdealer is far. Then email GM with screen shot of your order.

I'd assume that most dealers may think ordering is done and have no clue about wave 6 happening out of the blue. So you may need to convince them it's real so they stop being lazy and actually check.

If you received the email to order and did so - the truck is yours and they need to accept it. Don't let them play dumb and not get your truck in the queue. There are documents leaked from Ford to the dealers that show them exactly how to review and accept orders. I hate to say it, but any competent dealer that is keeping up would know this. We've found differently however.

My dealer has been pretty confused on the process as well, but they were quick to accept my order once it went in. I think they're just not checking the system.

Not all salespeople are that sharp. I've gone to a manager twice when my assigned salesperson has failed to respond to my emails after a few days and I've gotten a follow up call within an hour or so.

I was wave 2, I ended up receiving an email saying there was a problem with my order and that I had to call Ford. When I called Ford, I was informed that this email notice was because a week went buy where my dealer didn't accept my order. When I called my dealer and let them know about this chat with Ford, they looked into the issue and quickly figured out how to accept the order. I now have a build date of 6/20, so I don't think this impacted my timing, but I guess there's no way to ever know for sure.

If your dealer really is confused, I imagine you will end up going through the same steps I did with my order. I am pretty confident you won't lose it.

So you paid your deposit so you should be good.

The dealer has until 4/29 to accept the order.

I'd call or visit them to make sure they follow up.....

You're experiencing exactly what I went through with my dealer, they pegged it on problematic IT issues at the dealership, some sort of problems with their email server, etc.... (that was BS IMHO)!!

I ended up going in, after a week+ of useless emails with the sale associate, made an appointment to visit the GM & SM, 10 minute before the appointed hour .... they figured it out, accepted my order, then it took a few more days for them to input on WBDO and email me back a copy of the build sheet to verify the build was what I wanted done, I replied back with an acknowledgement email, they uploaded that into WBDO/ROVP/COVP and by that time it was 17 days into the process...

The lack of tech savviness was astounding, I'm not sure if they will choose to become a future Ford Model e dealer.........

What a pain! Sounds like they should be a Model T dealer. Sorry, bad joke.

My dealer was the opposite. They called me a week before I was able to order and told me I'd be in the next wave, and to call them as soon as I place my order. Took them about an hour to accept my order once it was complete.
