Different one for me.... a fruit. A racially derogatory name I suspect.
I’ve never dealt with them, but they do advertise good prices.

Fingers crossed! I have definitely got the run around - it has been 2+ weeks, many e-mails, calls and chasing. Funny story - since I started copying in the owner, president, etc. - they have removed all of those folks from their public facing website. I guess they are tired of me, but duh I have their contact info and am not going away.I've had limited traction.
Heard 2 different stories... One person said it was just a few days that they could not import into IRS from about 12-10 to the end of the year. A different person said it was one location of a multi location dealership that could not enter data, they just had not sold many EVs during the year.
Both said getting a hold of a person at the IRS who knew the EV portal existed was hard. Last I was told was the IRS took their documentation of trying to enter it and said they should have it resolved in 30 days (which will be April 6th).
To get this information I was calling the dealership everyday and had given up. So my wife took over and actually got called back and phone numbers of higher people than I had. I don't know what she did differently as she did this all on speakerphone so I could hear everything...but she did get us this information.
So fingers crossed for me.
That's a great commitment they made to you. Sounds like you'll be made whole by April 15. In my case, we were forced to file an extension as biz returns are due on 3/15 (this year 3/17) and I have zero faith in the dealer figuring this out by Monday....So I have an update on my particular situation. Purchased 5/24, dealer provided a paper 15400 and said they “faxed it in”. Of course it was never reported correctly, IRS is rejecting return, etc. So now after weeks of run around and the dealer communicating with the IRS, it seems it will come down to whether or not the IRS reopens the portal to prior sales. It seems the IRS is now rejecting when dealers report a sale date within the last 5 days and a correct in-service date. The GM of my dealership has stated that some dealers are receiving cease and desist letters for doing this in quantity. The good news on my end: The GM has committed to me that if they cannot resolve the issue with the IRS before the filing deadline then the dealership would cut me a check for $7500. Obviously not happy with how all of this has gone down, but that is a standup way to do business that I greatly appreciate. Would not hesitate to continue to give them my business again.
Agree 100%. This is a dealership issue that has absolutely turned into an IRS issue. Honestly idk what options dealers have at this point to make things right other than breaking out the checkbook. That's a great commitment they made to you. As an aside, given the current political climate, lots of layoffs at the IRS - what are the odds that the IRS will reopen the portal? I think small.
The reporting system is open 24/7/365, the "BUSINESS RULES" would need an adjustment, that's not likely to happen, the logic is supposed to follow LAW, with temporary exceptions when circumstances make it impossible to comply in a timely fashion, which is what happened during process startup. As an aside, given the current political climate, lots of layoffs at the IRS - what are the odds that the IRS will reopen the portal? Hopefully your manual return filing goes smoothly, it's likely in a pile of many returns waiting for keying, original entry clerk, then a key-verification clerk, once that's complete your return will be recognized by the "Where's my refund" system. With staffing reductions mostly focused on enforcement staff, I would expect the "Returns Processing Division" is properly staffed for the seasonal work surge. My instance is unique and sort of a one off in the sense that the dealership was bought out within a month of the purchase of my ‘24 Lariat ER. (10/04/2024). I mailed my tax return paperwork into the IRS along with a copy of my sales contract (showing me as the owner, date of purchase/in service date, VIN, and truck model) I’ve checked the IRS “Where’s my refund” tool at least weekly, still get the system response of “no records match” which means that it has not been entered into the system, or it has been rejected or they just haven’t gotten around to mine yet (hopefully the latter) but I’d say I mailed mine in on 02/25/2025 so it’s barely been a couple weeks. Mailed returns typically take 4-6 weeks for processing (likely to take longer with current situations) all I know is that unless I get a notice from the IRS saying that I’ve neglected to file my 2024 taxes I’m holding out hoping that it will get processed and approved with “sufficient evidence” dealership & new ownership refuses to be of any assistance in this matter. “Not our sale, not our problem”. I included a typed letter with my tax papers basically stating my situation & the older dealerships info along with a contact at the dealership that can confirm everything.
Insane's my middle name, says the orange overlord. It would be "INSANE" for these low level clerks to be laid off until the processing drive is complete, historically done by July 31st
