Departures broken

Ever since getting the update to fix the front parking sensors my cabin no longer heats up while it’s preparing for departure. The app will even say “preparing cabin and battery for departure” but no lights on truck and when I go out the battery has heated but the cabin is off entirely. I can hit the button in app to force it on but liked having it automated. Have tried deleting all departures and recreating them. App is up to date. Maybe uninstall and reinstall but I don’t have high hopes

Are you sure the battery has been heated? It sounds like no preconditioning is happening at all.

Leaving work yesterday battery was right on the centerline when I turned it on while being 0° and sitting for four hours, my commute is less than a mile so driving earlier that day didn’t warm it up. cabin was frosty.

What was your departure time HH:MM am/pm?
Did you select warm for cabin comfort?
What is the duration of your remote start permanent setting in the truck, 5 / 10 or 15 minutes?
What was the time when you noticed the preparation phase starting?
What time did you get in the truck?

I'm asking to determine if the performance is based of settings which are not giving you the results you expect.

I will admit that the commencement of departure timed actions has been flakey the past few days, yesterday I needed to manually remote start it when I observed it was 2 minutes past the execution time.

This morning it worked perfectly on its own

I don't understand why it's flakey at times, one would think these activities can/should occur autonomously once the task is stored onboard the truck.

It’s set to run for 15 minutes and these are the settings I’ve had it at for the last few days. I go out to the vehicle five minutes after the departure times since getting it it’s always been lights on and running not anymore.

Your settings look fine.

The afternoon event should have started at 4:50 PM
The truck should have been decently warm at 5:00 PM when you went out, and should still be able to run until 5:05 PM if you were late punching out for the day.

How are the Remote Start features for cabin & seat / wheel conditioning?
Automatic or Last Use?

I'm using automatic.

I thought the truck just kind of decided what to do on its own. Sometimes I go out the rear defrost is on sometimes it’s not. Sometimes steering wheel heat is on sometimes it’s not. Sometimes the seats are on two. Sometimes they’re on three.

These settings are on the Sync screen Settings, Vehicle, Remote Start Setup, expand the subsettings .

Same as yours, different screen lol. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things I guess but maybe with the next update it’ll start working again.

Yes, the haphazard performance has been a problem since day one.

@Ford Motor Company is hopefully monitoring conversations on this topic and doing their best to fix the reliability and more importantly not break it with subsequent updates.

Wondered why my cabin was cold this morning, it had been working up until today. Guess I'll have to look for that screen when I get off work.

Updated to the newest version of the app this afternoon and my cabin is warming up as I’m getting ready to punch out as scheduled

I've been on FP 5.8.0 for Android for 12 days now, this problem comes and goes, I haven't had any OTA's on my truck in three months, I'm guessing it's communication issues, but if that is the cause .... WHY ..?... this process should run autonomously once the program is stored on the truck.
