If that’s the case, sounds like a class action.
Good luck. I took it up with our state's AG and they were unwilling to pursue it as we're in Colorado and Ford is not. They agreed that it appeared to be false advertising, but not on the part of the dealership, just the manufacturer, so they closed the case.

Also, no indication of subscription on the Monroney sticker.

Wht is that in comparison to Bluecruise?

I wasn't sure which post to reply to since this relates to several posts. I hope it helps.

First, Co-Pilot 360 is not BlueCruise.
Co-Pilot 360 is adaptive cruise control with lane-keeping assistance that requires your hands to always be on the wheel. Yes, you can temporarily remove your hands, but it will bark at you after a few seconds. If you continue to keep your hands off, it will brake-check you a couple of times and then slow down to a crawl. The attention monitor cameras can also be a pain if you have an older version of Co-Pilot 360. Mine loved to yell at me to pay attention even when I was doing so under certain conditions (wearing glasses at nighttime and dense fog causing headlight reflection on my glasses).

BlueCruise is hands-free driving on designated divided highways.
I have BC 1.2 and it does not ping-pong in the lane once you let it take over. It does work around highway corners. The only thing it does that sometimes still makes my butt pucker is it will wait to slow down from high speed for stopped traffic a little later than I would, but it has always stopped. It also may drive closer to a truck alongside me than I would, but it never hits it. I love it! I have let it drive me around the San Francisco area freeways and Sacramento freeways at high speed and in stop-and-go traffic. If anything, I drive less like a jackass since I'm not trying to squeeze out a couple of extra minutes driving aggressively because I relax and let it do its job.

BC 1.4 is a further improvement that I am waiting on.
It does a better job of adjusting in the lane to provide additional space when running alongside a truck. It will adjust the speed on corners depending on the tightness, among other general improvements. I may even get the dongle and a two-day subscription to FDRS to force it onto my truck sooner.

I post this because people need to know the differences. I understand people not liking Co-Pilot 360 because they expect it to do more and behave better than it was designed to. I also agree that I would not pay the subscription for BC 1.1. The price is too high for what it provides. BC 1.2 and 1.4 are a different story.

we were discussing what we purchased on our sticker as everyone seems to have different things.

honestly i got an early model mach e and an early lightning, and i don't remember BC being on a trial, especially for the mach e.

My 2022 window sticker didn't specifically list Blue Cruise or the {3/year} either, just the subsidiary features, but I recall seeing other folks stickers with it listed.

Has any other manufacturer with self driving features had documented mishaps, or is it only Ford? I seem to recall reading about several Tesla incidences.

IMO it is an error to unitize fixed costs such as R&D or facilities, but that's just my opinion.
That is just accounting! How else would you do it? If you spend $49,000 to design and $1000 to build and sell one widget what would your cost be?

Of course it is just different methods of accounting. Ford was going to have to spend money to get up to speed on building electric vehicles period, as opposed to investing in any particular model. Why not treat this spend as sunk cost? Some GAP/FASB organizations do. It is knowledge that can be used to inform multiple future models that haven't been released yet.

exactly. How can they just apply a blanket subscription over everyone? It wasn't on the Moroney like it is now.

The point of paying for a subscription is that you are funding that particular technology and getting the latest updates in a timely manner. My truck was purchased only 6 months ago and I am still on v1.0. which I find unusable.

there have been 3 updates to the technology and none of them have been pushed to my truck. Until they get their act together and figure out the technical issues of how they are going to provide a "Paid for" service, they should not be charging for it (like beta software). All this is doing is ruining their reputation, no different than BMW charging for heated seats. BC is starting to get a bad name due to people being frustrated that even though their are much advanced versions out there, their trial is over before they can even get an update.

So far, there is no way I would pay for this service. Even if I end up getting 1.4. Unless I see a steady path of updates going to all subscribers, it won't even be a consideration.
