Hello,

I decided to go for it. Here is the initial list of updates for my job 2 truck with a build date of 8/21/2021. I‘ve completed all updates listed below. I was expecting an APIM update for Sync but hasn’t shown up yet. My Sync version is 21136_Product Revision 134. I've seen newer versions of Sync. Any ideas why there isn't an update?

In case anyone is interested:

IPC update takes 6.5 hours
TCU update via canbus takes 4.5 hours

Had I known the TCU was going to take that long I would not have started the update at 9pm last night. I was thinking 2 hours max.

Oh well at least it’s all updated now. Hopefully those DTCs will go away on their own.
Is your truck job 1 or job 2?

my truck says blue cruise is active in Sync after recent frds updates, I just need the IPC update.
I'm assuming you have the 12" cluster?

Not sure which job. It was built in Apr 21. I only have the 8" cluster.

So after driving around all day today, I still can't get rid of my three DTCs. I started searching under my exact errors and found this: MC-10189574-0001.pdf (oemdtc.com) which exactly describes my IPMA error. So if I go through with what it's suggesting I have to complete the IPMA Alignment process. Does anyone know exactly what that entails? I'm assuming I have to go drive the truck, but curious as to what happens if I'm driving on a two lane road rather than in the center lane on a highway? How do I make sure the service drive alignment process starts at the right time? Can I start the alignment while I'm driving?

Before I waste the time trying has anyone by chance got this setup to work with windows 11? The only laptop I have has windows 11. I am hoping not to spend another 200 bucks on a used laptop.

I tried it on a Windows 11 laptop and FDRS would not run due to not being able to load the drivers door communication.

I’ve used it on windows 11 with zero issues. Windows 11 runs anything that runs on Windows 10.

IPMA alignment is straight forward. You need to drive it for 15 mins or so. Best bet is to have a road that has the lines on each side of the truck.. It needs those lines to calibrate.

What I do is find a good long road pull into a gas station along the road and start everything in the parking lot and when it say drive I just pull out and drive until its done. I would recommend connecting to the truck wifi. Makes it easier. If you have a data plan in place. Other wise you have to wait to complete the process. You will need to reconnect to wifi.

Thank you for this info. I'm going to do this later this afternoon.

On a separate note. Has anyone taken a look at the history section in FDRS for their vehicle? I did for mine and can see every service appointment and every software update activity prior to doing my own software update. The big difference is that my updates show my user name as the technician and the work done by the service dept do not show a technician name. Will this become a problem with the service dept in the future? If they go back and look at my history and see I did a bunch of updates, would that be reason enough for them to refuse to repair something electrical that might go out later down the road?

Don't know what the ramifications are, but I wasn't the least surprised by the fact that there would be logging going on. In fact, I bet what FDRS shows in history is only a summary of the logging going on.

Is there an updated VX manager download link. Looks like the hosting link expired on 18 Feb and now you have to subscribe to download.

Out of curiosity the people that got the usb update to work. Did you give your usb a specific name to help the truck recognize the usb device as the update?

I am not an expert at all as I just started this and got to the restart required point so now waiting. But I did not name it anything. I inserted it and immediately did a fresh reformat and then loaded it with the update.
