So I've had my Lightning for 2 months now and put on 5,300 km and my efficiency has been terrible.

Today driving 45 minutes at 110 kph (68mph) with a tailwind, I had 33km/100kms (1.89 mi/kwh). On the way back, with a headwind, at the same speed, I got 40km/100km (1.55 mi/kwh). The headwind was about 20 kph ( 13mph). Outside temp was 21 Celcius (70 degrees).

Is there something I'm doing wrong here? I can't seem to come close to everyone else's claims.

2023 Lariat ER
Hankook AT2 tires (44psi cold)
Tonneau Cover
Mud flaps

Anyone with that 2.0+ mi/kwh tell me what's different between my setup and yours? What else I can try?

I lost you at efficiency described in km/km.

Were you using heat or a/c? Just you, passengers, cargo? Flat terrain? One pedal? What drive mode?

At that speed, I would normally see 2.1-2.4 with all seasons tires, no climate, and one pedal.

No heat or ac. No cargo. Flat terrain. Had the family (wife and two young kids). Normal mode with cruise set.

Probably tires, the m/kwh on here is misleading as unless you have the same driving as they do you won't get the same.

Mud flaps don't makea difference.

Mode is irrelevant. Tonneau has no impact, nor mudflaps. Nothing you would notice.

How did you get 1.89? This Trip?

I had a very similar trip efficiency (1.5 - 1.8 mi/kwh)a couple months ago on a 400 mile trip (60-70 degrees F, 70 miles/hour; headwind/tailwind had the same effect you described); I made a 600 mile trip two weeks ago at 70-85 degrees and 70-80 miles/hour (no noticeable wind effects) and got 2.2 mi/kwh.
I accuse the truck of turning on the battery warmer when it’s under 70 degrees F.
That or it’s the moon’s gravity pulling against my truck (it drags the ocean up like 4 feet, so makes sense to me)

I have the AT tires and am getting around 2.3 or thereabouts. You could try dropping to 60 and see if there is a huge difference, that is typically what I travel around here.

What kind of terrain are you on? Hills make an enormous difference and you don't get it all back on the way down. I'd also check the tire pressure and alignment.

I set up my car scanner pro to display the instant km/kWh (which displays as miles/kWh in the US) on a gauge, and I put the phone where I can somewhat see it without looking too far down. If you get car scanner pro you can save all the data, a graph of km/kWh, kms driven, elevation, and speed (on separate graphs) could be very informative. It isn't too much to upgrade to the pro version, the free one only graphs one parameter.

My truck has gotten much better efficiency lately, I don't know if that is the weather or if it is breaking in. I was getting under 1.9 when I first got it in November.

What does your break coach say? Do you use a lot of friction break?
Alignment is OK?
‘I am shooting in the dark. The only times I have seen anything close to your numbers is when I do over 80 mph.

Do you have the "where did my energy go?" screen? It disappeared on me in the latest update but that would let you know if you are using energy for climate or battery conditining.

You can't open it up from the app screen?
