Wouldn't be hard to imagine an aluminum cab Ranger size truck with a battery pack somewhere between the Mach E and the ER Lightning could eek out some pretty good mileageAlso, pretty interesting tidbit from that podcast, MissGoElectric said that Jim Farley told her that the "new EV truck" that they're preparing to build in Tennessee will have 100 miles more range than the F-150. He also said it will be geared towards efficiency and have "controversial" design.
I know that will buck a lot of Ford diehards who prefer traditional truck designs and ICE powertrains, but those same people also tout a truck's utility as the primary reason for owning one. Ironically, a more "controversial" design may cause the diehards to double down on EV hate while the new design will actually provide more utility. Also, pretty interesting tidbit from that podcast, MissGoElectric said that Jim Farley told her that the "new EV truck" that they're preparing to build in Tennessee will have 100 miles more range than the F-150. That would not surprise me at all. It also wouldn't surprise me if it ended up being a unibody construction instead of the steel exoskeleton design that they originally had.Watch Ford put out their controversial wacky CyberTruck competitor before Tesla launches the actual CyberTruck.
I had that same thought. Blend date of 4/20 and sticker date updated to 4/29 today making me hopeful it's nearly shipped, but the May 10th media embargo makes me wonder.I've got to figure this means no one is getting their delivery until at least May 10th, right? Why have a media embargo if you knew customers were going to have them sooner. Even those already gone through production may have some time to wait....
I would plan 30 days for shipping to avoid disappointment, so the May 10 date would have no impact.I had that same thought. Blend date of 4/20 and sticker date updated to 4/29 today making me hopeful it's nearly shipped, but the May 10th media embargo makes me wonder.
May shoot an email to my dealer to see if they know anything about shipping, nah, who I am kidding, that will just frustrate me more when I hear their made up answer.
The sticker says CONVOY. I think that means just loading on ground transport from Michigan to Wisconsin. I hope it's not 30 days. I've had a Rivian reservation since 2019, why avoid disappointment now?I would plan 30 days for shipping to avoid disappointment, so the May 10 date would have no impact.
I don't think you can read too much into the sticker dates. Mine has updated on Friday for the last two weeks for a 4/29 blend date. Nothing else changed on the stickers. It seems like it's just a script that runs on all stickers on a scheduled basis.I had that same thought.
