Has anybody else had trouble getting @Ford Motor Company to honor their First Responder discount? After registering as a first responder (VOLUNTEER fire fighter) on ID.me I received my eligibility certificate from Ford one day prior to purchasing and taking ownership of my 2023 Lightning XLT. When I got to the dealer the next day they said that the system showed my Lightning as not being eligible. However, the First Responder Eligible Vehicles website clearly shows the Lightning: https://fordrecognizesu.com/firstresponder/home/eligiblevehicles. Additionally, the email I received listed vehicles that were ineligible and the Lightning was NOT on that list. The ineligible vehicles are also listed in the fine print on the program website. This is the list: "Available on the purchase or lease of any new and eligible 2022/2023/2024 Ford or Lincoln vehicle. Not available on AviatorĀ®, NavigatorĀ®, MustangĀ® Dark Horseā¢, Mustang ShelbyĀ® GT500Ā®, Mustang Mach 1Ā®, F-150Ā® RaptorĀ®, RangerĀ® Raptor, Ford GTā¢, BroncoĀ® and Bronco Raptor."
So it seems pretty clear that the Lightning is eligible and Ford should be honoring my discount. Has anybody run into an issue with getting your discount? In my attempt to get Ford to honor their commitment I also contacted their customer service and created a case # on October 30, almost 40 days ago, and they still haven't made a decision. During that time I fought a 225 acre forest fire for 12 straight hours overnight and 16 hours total before my department was released.
So, what do you say @Ford Motor Company?? Do you honor your first responders or not?
