Kind of terrible timing, first time using a Tesla destination charger at a hotel and wanted to see charging stats. Otherwise I probably wouldn’t have noticed.

I believe @Ford Motor Company is customer focused - and I believe that most customers understand that technology has issues from time to time - but how the company communicates these issues is critical for earning customer trust.

I have number of cloud based applications I subscribe to that notify me via email and a status board when they are experiencing issues and I have the utmost of respect for that action. I hope @Ford Motor Company considers this option.
Since the FordPass app was working - it just could not communicate with the backend - it would be great if Ford created a services status website and then created a simple button in the app that would launch a web browser and take you to the service status website (no cloud data needed for that, could be all local to the app on the phone).

An outage yesterday affecting certain customer functions through the FordPass and Lincoln Way apps, as well as http://Ford.com and http://Lincoln.com, has been resolved. The issue didn’t involve any customer data. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as the services were being restored. If you have concerns or needs now or anytime, in addition to online, we can always be reached through the Ford Customer Relationship Center at 800-336-0486.

Didn't involve customer data? Hmmm ...APT breaches a lot of times involve customer data....unless they are squashed before data is exfiltrated, which often times requires bringing down the network. I'm sure the ISSO in me is just overthinking this :)

I've jumped to quickly in the past to reset everything thinking it was me or my trucks individual problem, not realizing it was a global outage, same goes for the FCSP data logging.

Maybe get AWS or Azure to host the backend instead of whatever geocities equivalent they're on.
ummm. from very recent experience, at at least one major cloud connect center... nope, nope, nope... (Chicago Equinix and Azure/MAPS).

Wouldn't your passcode work to start the truck? I've had PAAK fail to work twice in the 8 months I've owned the truck, and both times I used the door code and then typed in my passcode and got on my way.

Did FordPass being down impact the ability to use the passcode? Or have you not set one up?

I didn’t even put this together. PAAK was acting up and I keep key in Mission Darkness bag in safe and the backup code written down in there too in case I forget it. I like redundant options 😁. I need a new phone and figured this would be final straw. Guess Ford blew that for me.

My fordpass was down yesterday but PAAK worked fine. Why shouldn't it? It doesn't involve internet communication AFAIK just bluetooth.

I think he jumped to resetting the PAAK settings on the phone, losing his digital key.

I get that. I decided if I was going to rely on PAAK, then I had to learn that because inevitably something will happen. Phone breaks or is lost, bluetooth wonky, or, in this case, FordPass down all count. I love that I can get in the truck and drive even if I'm in the middle of nowhere with no phone and no fobs.

It is Bluetooth to vehicle, but I don't know if there's some backend authentication that needs to happen. I was having PAAK issues and reset phone then couldn't get PAAK working again until Ford came back up. Not sure what started the issue originally.

Exactly why I locked it in the safe in truck. I open that (safe) every day or I'd probably forget it too.
