ford to tesla charger - warranty issue?

I am looking at buying a Lectron convertor to use the Tesla Super Charger network. Any recommendations? Also if i buy the Lectron brand does it impact my Ford warranty? Thanks all!

I'd personally buy the Ford adapter, it's an improved version of the Lectron, and IMO worth the short wait, plus you can use your FordPass Rewards points to get a discount. https://www.ford.com/product/ford-fast-charging-adapter-nacs-p2999073032

Ford might send you a Tesla-made adapter. No guarantee you’ll get the Lectron version.

There is nothing in the individual adapters that will tell Ford it wasn’t approved, so use whatever you’d like. I bought A2Z and it works fine.

If Ford wanted me to use their adapter they would have it available for sale on their site or included with my truck.

Ford is working with Lectron to produce the latest Ford branded adapter, yes. BUT if you buy from the Lectron website (or via Amazon or whatever) you are NOT getting a Ford approved adapter, technically.

I am not a lawyer but I believe IF (and it's a big if) your adapter failed in such a way to cause damage to the charger or the vehicle, if the adapter wasn't blessed by Ford and Tesla (i.e. was any of the third party offerings from A2Z, Lectron, TeslaTap, or whoever else comes along), then you would be on the hook for damages.

To date there have been no reports of any such issues, and many thousands of people are using third party adapters regularly. FWIW

I ordered the Lectron from Amazon - will let everyone know how it works out. Arriving tomorrow.

Ford has no insertion into what 'adapter' you might use, where you charge, what EVSE you charge with, what stations you use.... nothing. None of that has anything to do with any vehicle warranty. . . No more than where you buy your fuel for your gas vehicles.
