I wanted to mention, that we've done extensive studies about when it's best to use departure time to pre-condition the battery, in my situation daily local driving only requires charging once a week during mild season, in the winter I might continue this m/o unless I start getting really low by mid week.
Heating the battery is most important for charging, if you can get a round trip completed and recharge the battery daily while parked in your heated garage, you might do well enough, but the truck will decide if warming the battery is necessary even at the end of a cold day.
On the other hand, if you're squeezing a substantial portion of your SOC in a daily drive cycle, there might be some value to warming the battery and mid trip charging is needed, but if it's parked in 65 degree garage for 10-12 hours, the garage heat should be sufficient, the truck will decide if the PTC needs to warm up the pack while charging.
