I whole heartedly agree, I bet it’s probably cheaper to manufacture this way….
LOL, yea, but as long as these things are sitting on lots collecting dust, there's no reason they don't get updates continuously pushed. It makes sense that they don't want to park the car at the plant pending updates, but at the dealer sitting around doing nothing; how's that not possible?

Back to SOC, I used to keep mine on the calm screen all of the time strictly to have the percent battery. Bit of a headache. So glad 6.8.0 arrived yesterday... right when my replacement truck shows up. SMH

I just got the SoC update last night on my ‘23 pro!! So glad it finally arrived after 9 months and almost 20,000 miles!

So be patient OP, they are slow but it is coming. They shouldn’t be this slow with updates, and you have a right to be upset, but the update is coming.

if there's one lesson ford has learned with mach.e and lightning, its that proper software implementation is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT going forward. It might actually be THE most important function of future cars. I'm hoping the gen 2 vehicles rival Tesla software.

Still no idea what you're talking about. My 10/22 build always showed SOC.
He’s talking about showing the actual number and not just the graphic, like 83% from my example below…

So you’re mad at Ford for not getting an update to you for SOC on a specific screen. I’ve never seen an ICE vehicle show % of gas tank on the fuel gauge. I also see people upset on here because the calculated range doesn’t match EPA rating. I don’t ever recall an ICE person complain about calculated range not being EPA range. Everyone saying to reset it only makes you feel better and doesn’t change how far the truck will go - probably will strand you based on not accurately representing driving habits.
I leave mine on the Calm Screen all the time even after I got the 6.8 update and don’t obsess over everything.

Ford F-150 Lightning Ford's going to lose me with not showing me state of charge % 1000000291

This is what I want to see. 3 years of driving Teslas with the option of seeing only SOC and no range has me spoiled. I could care less about the GOM. Never needed it or wanted it before, don't need it in my Lightning. Now if I could only seem to get past 6.4... If Ford won't give me what I want, I'm slapping a piece of electrical tape on the screen to hide the GOM once I finally get 6.8.

I sympathize. Different things are the "straw that broke the camel's back" for different people. Ford's software update process is definitely a cluster****. For me it's more the fact that they promised and do not deliver, than the actual missing features.

But while we're complaining about dumbed down user interface. How about charging speed in kW. Wouldn't want to bother the user with such an inconsequential detail I guess.

How long does it take to go from 6.4 to 6.5? This my second 2023 Lighting Lariat. The first one was a SR and I got all of the updates within the first 90 days. My 2nd one (an ER), I've had for 6 months and I just got 6.4 on Sept 9th, 2024. So, I know I'm missing the battery % plus all of the other updates that were great enhancements.

My November build 2023 Lariat SR just got 6.8 last night. It is nice to see the battery percent number on the GOM. I can get used to that.

I have a 2024 Flash and I see the percent of battery on the ‘this trip’ screen. Is this something that others don’t see?
Also, just to add an additional dumb question, how do I view what version I’m running? I have auto updates turned off, but poking around on the app and the truck I can’t seem to find what version I’m running. I’m sure it’s user error, just don’t know how to fix this user ;)

So you’re saying that his truck doesn’t show the ‘83’? Just shows the graph?
Yes, I’ve had mine for almost 10 months and it finally got that this week. You, with a ‘24 Flash should be just showing the graph and not the actual number…. am I correct?

Yea a pic of his screen would really be helpful. I can’t imagine the drivers screen without SOC% numbers. But I’ve got a 22.

It’s really not difficult guys, Ford doesn’t ship the trucks with the most up to date software, I have a Sept ‘23 build Lariat and I just got the 6.8 software update this week to show the actual percentage, before all I had was the graph. they do have the 25% markers there so you kind of know where you’re at, you just don’t now exactly what it is.
