2022 Lightning Lariat
My wife got tboned in my car after a guy ran a very red light. 3 years and 100k miles. Absolutely loved my GT with small complaints here and there.

I needed to go bigger and with no 3 row in my budget I found a pretty decked out and warrantied Lariat for 46k and 25,000 miles. This thing must have been a pavement prince's with how well taken care of it is. I'm sad to be in something different as I saved forever to get my 21 GT at launch. Now I'm a dad, combined with an avid diy guy, and owner of 3 dogs. So I went for some extra room. Got a warrany still left on it, barely used tires as the previous owner swapped them in winters (Carfax was great here), a liner, bed rug, and hard tonneau.

As for the dealer experience...... @Ford Motor Company needs to step it up and I look forward to the day I don't have to deal with them.

I unfortunately had to buy from the other local dealer that I hate and whose customer service sucks. After I signed the paperwork, I was informed there was only one key to the car and that "that's normal for these cars" which I knew not to be the case and then showed him the numerous forum posts that say that was not the case. The salesman also insisted it had a heat pump which was also just wrong. I could tell that despite being a more veteran salesman he has little knowledge of the car and I had to frequently correct him. He had no idea the frunk could be opened from the outside. I will never understand sales people who are afraid to do just say "I don't know, let me find out to make sure"

The sync software also shows the car at one point had 3 admin keys. Which further shows the dealer either never got the second key or lost it.

I also was told they fixed the trailer fault break error that showed on my test drive and others had reported on the 22s. as I drove away it popped up nearly immediately

When I asked for the keypad code, they didn't know it and said because they don't have two keys they don't know how to get it without coming into service.

So already I'm taking my new to me car to the shop and taking more time out of my day.

The salesman claims his manager is going to reach out to the previous owner on the key and see if they have it, but I have little faith. I have every intention to follow up with Ford directly on this. They have always had great corporate service with my mach e and treated me well, so I am hoping they can get me a second key so I don't need to spend $200 to $500 on some the dealer "forgot" to mention until I bought. Yes you can argue I should have asked.....I also shouldn't need to ask.

I will say their finance guy was great and friendly but everything else was just so lackluster and it makes it so hard to recommend Ford products when the dealer experience continues to be an abysmal experience. I will be going back to my other dealer for all future service issues. When I get the review scores for this dealer.....it will be low

Still excited to be here, even if it wasn't on my terms or the best transaction.

Even when buying from a dealer, you should go through a used car inspection checklist yourself.
One of the things on most of them is to actually inspect and test that there are two working keys.

Want 2 keys and it only has 1? Make sure the paperwork says "seller to provide 2 working OEM key fobs"

Important to do the above BEFORE SIGNING. Reject any verbal promises and insist they write it in the paperwork. You will learn that a verbal "I am sure you can get another key from the parts department." translates into +$350 on the price negotiation if you insist on it in writing in the agreement.

If they balk, then at least you know where you stand and can make the purchase decision fully informed.

Which I got prior to the key unfortunately. The dealer model needs to die.

Congrat's on the new to you Lightning, hopefully you're tried & true dealer for Mache will handle maintenance of the Lightning better than your purchase experience from the local yokel, many of us agree that a hybrid or pure Model-E format is long overdue.

The factory door code is printed on the BCM label. The BCM is located on the right side of the passenger footwell. There’s a thread on here with pictures if you can find it.

It's a used truck. Dealer can make a new key in 15 minutes, and remove the missing keys. You should have made that a condition of sale.

Ford doesn't owe you a key.
